  1. I shove king size bags of M&Ms, chewy Spree, etc. into my pockets before I walk into the park. I'm not paying $2 at the park for a regular sized bag when I can get 3 at my work for $2. The candy in the machines at CP is $1.25, but still, that's outrageous. I drive an hour to KI and 3 hours to CP, I'm spending enough in gas getting to the parks.
  2. Yes, I walked all the way back around.. actually I ran because it was cold and I wanted to get my blood moving
  3. Interp thought of that..... LOL!!!! Sorry, Terpy, just had to!!! BAD Terpy! I'm so glad I renewed my platinum for next year. I told a friend of mine about season pass preview day (he has a CF platinum pass), and he refuses to believe me.
  4. If the person who thought of this was standing in front of me, I'd kiss them. That seriously just put the biggest smile on my face.
  5. I had a very hard time picking between floorless, inverted, and giga.. so I choose other. Another favorite of mine is launched coasters.
  6. Yeah. They had the third train off to the side. I also forgot to mention that at one point while I was in line for TTD toward the end of the night, they started playing the Maverick music in the queue. It was hilarious, everyone was like what the heck?
  7. I rode TTD 5 times Sunday, once in the very front, and trust me I'd take TTD's launch over FOF's launch any day. It feels like you are being pulled inside out. I LOVE DRAGSTER!! By the way, the drop is 400 feet, but the coaster itself is 420 feet high. Glad to hear you had a great last day at KI, I already miss the place. Six months with no Drop Tower. I am not looking forward to the withdrawal symptoms.
  8. The board was reading that around 11 am. Then again, at one point the board was reading 3/4 hour and the line wasn't even to the bottom of the ramp.
  9. I know. At one point toward the end of the afternoon, I was waiting for Kat and Garrett to get off Magnum so I could meet them for the first time. I looked up at Dragster gleaming in the fading sunlight as the train roared up the hill, and a seagull flew over. It was beautiful. It hit me then like a ton of bricks that this really was the last day, and it took everything I had to keep the tears from coming. Anyone who's been there knows the feeling CP gives you, it's like your heart is being squeezed in a vice when you even think about what time to head home.
  10. 38 rides on Millennium Force. An estimated 42 rides on Drop Tower.
  11. I was literally praying with crossed fingers for a rollback while on the train. Of course, I SAW one, but didn't get one.. oh well. Maybe next year.
  12. I got to the SC lot around 9:15. My friend Bryan was nice enough to warn me the previous night that it was very cold, so I packed some extra shirts.. I'm glad I did. I had to wear 2 thermal tees, a tshirt, gloves, 2 layers of socks, and a hoodie to stay warm. When the gates opened, I made a dash for Maverick(walk on), and got 2 rides in a row. I also hit MF, and got 2 rides in a row, also walk on. I sat in the back both times. I hit the red side of Power Tower, walk on, and got a bad craving for TTD so I ran over there and rode it, but I had to wait forever because they were only loading 6 people per train to PREVENT rollbacks. Then I hit Magnum, and rode twice in a row in ejector seat, another walk on. I was going to hit TTD but the line was ugly and showing at an hour, so I hit the blue side of Power Tower, walk on. I headed over to Wicked Twister and rode 3 times in a row in the second seat from the back on the right side. It was a walk on too. I walked onto Maxair, and then hit Raptor, which was about a 15 minute wait. By this time I was starving to death so I ate, and headed back over to Millennium Force, 10 minute wait. I went back over to Magnum and rode ejector again. I was walking away, saw my friend Ben and hung out with him on his break, then I hit Skyscraper, which had a buy one get one free deal. First ride was kind of eh, but it was still good. I headed back over to TTD and they called out for a single rider for the front seat.. so I got to jump right on!! I rode it two more times because the line wasn't even to the bottom of the ramp. I rode in the second to back seat the last 2 times. I hit Skyscraper one last time, and someone must have been leaning on the switch lol because I got a VERY intense ride, much better than the first. I am so glad I got to experience that this year. Then I met up with my friends Kat and Garrett for the first time, and we rode Magnum twice in a row. We screamed all the way up the lift hill and everyone behind us was laughing. She is hilarious and a lot of fun. We hit TTD and decided to act like terrified first time riders, but we were laughing so hard. The three of us decided to be stupid and ride Super Himalaya and scream our heads off like we were scared. The ride op was looking at us like we were on drugs. After that we felt bad for Bryan and went to go visit him, who for some idiotic reason got assigned to work in the Town Hall for the last 2 hours of his shift (on closing day?? are you serious?). They left to ride Maverick and Skyhawk, I hung out with Bryan for a little bit, and then I got 3 rides in a row on MF before the queue closed, because they left the gate open. As I was driving back around the peninsula, I rolled down my driver side window, blew a kiss and yelled I LOVE YOU to Maverick and MF.. yes, I know, I'm silly like that, but I just couldn't leave without saying the proper goodbyes. If any of you were there, and saw a girl with red hair tied up and a black KI hoodie, that was me. Total rides: 28 MF - 6 TTD - 5 Magnum - 5 Wicked Twister - 3 Skyscraper - 2 Maverick - 2 Power Tower - 2 Raptor - 1 MaxAir - 1 Super Himalaya - 1
  13. When I was in my senior year of high school (2000), a bunch of the boys went to KI for senior skip day. Two of them got kicked out of the park for flipping off the cameras on Vortex. I have a shirt that says "you must be of legal age to enjoy this ride" and almost wore it on my last trip to CP, but I decided against it. It's funny, but I didn't want to make kids ask questions or get glares from parents. I really hate offending people.
  14. I wasn't trying to be mean. I tend to come off that way sometimes, I just like to get straight to the point, whenever possible. Angie, who unintentionally makes puns and is now guilty of a Terpyism..
  15. As seen above, every month this year had some spectacular event! What month was the best out of the 08' season? August, when Diamondback was announced. Did the word, "Nostalgia" Have its best year ever? Yes. I loved the return of the Bradys, and the 80s Flashback shows. I was born in 1982, and Material Girl by Madonna was my favorite song as a little girl, plus I've been visiting KI for over 12 years. So whenever I heard that song playing in the park or at the shows, it brought a smile to my face. Bringing back Knievel was really awesome too. What roller coaster in your opinion had its best year ever? What thrill ride? I think Son of Beast did. It sure drew a lot of publicity and always seemed to have a long line. Skyflyer also seemed extremely popular on every visit I made this year. Did Halloween Haunt have its best year ever? Yes. I liked how they even turned the water tower into a fright zone. What restaurant had the best food? Stunt Crew Grill. Every time I've eaten there this year (which has been several times), the food is hot and fresh. What crew/area was best? Skyflyer, Vortex, and Beast. Extremely efficient crews, great capacity. I did not ride Skyflyer, but every time I looked at it, the cables were descending or there were people flying. The Crypt could be considered the new ride this year, did it have its best year ever? No. What new show in 2008 was the best in your opinion? 80s Flashback! What was the best thing that happened this year at Kings Island? Not only the announcement of Diamondback, but the Robbie Knievel show. It really put KI on the map. What change from 2007 to 2008 was the best? The CF takeover. Did Kings Island Central have its best year ever? This is my first year on KIC, so I don't really have an answer. Sorry! Was 2008 Kings Islands Best Year Ever? What was the best park about this season, what about 2009 do you look most forward to? Yes. Like everyone else, I am looking forward to the almighty Diamondback.
  16. I said my last trip to CP (Oct 10-12) was my last. But after several texts, IMs, and board posts from my CP buddies (including CP employees) harassing me to go on closing day, I caved. I went on KI opening day, and now I'm going to CP closing day.. with 6 visits to CP and 12 visits to KI in between.. wow. What an amazing year it has been.
  17. I vote yes. I paid $150 for my '08 KI platinum pass.. if I'm going to be spending that much money on a pass, I expect the full benefit package. I too used to be jealous of such things, until I went platinum and got park benefits I'd never dreamed of. Forget the regular season pass, save your pennies, and go gold or platinum. You will never complain again when you see what it can do for you.
  18. LINE JUMPERS. People who spit in the queues. People who bounce those #$%& basketballs, hit me with one and I'll throw it into The Vortex ravine. People who don't pay attention when the line is moving, and there is 50 feet of space in front of them. Stop making out with your flavor of the week, and WALK. Groups of people who stop at the ride entrance and debate if they want to ride or not, and then get mad because I walked in front of them into the queue. People who loudly shout totally false information about a ride. Lazy slobs who throw trash on the ground. There are trash cans everywhere, have some manners and respect. People who walk eight deep and block the entire midway. MOVE, or I'm pushing through.
  19. Maverick is a perfect example of that. The lift is only 105 feet, but after my first ride, it immediately shot to the top of my favorites. Skyscraper only spins you 160 feet into the air, but IMO, it destroys every flat ride at KI and CP.
  20. OK.. so is this a joke, or is it the real thing? I can never tell on this site.
  21. Favorite steel: FOF, with Invertigo a close second Favorite woodie: Beast Favorite flat: Drop Tower, with Slingshot a close second
  22. I tend to grab the lap bar sometimes when on Beast and FOF. No clue why. Other than that, I ride all with hands up, yes even TTD, Skyscraper, and all free fall towers.
