  1. Well I hope they add Snakepit and PotatoWorks. Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.
  2. Diamondstack stack stack!!! Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.
  3. Light crowd, but Banshee is down. Maybe a drive wheel issue, burning smell in the lift hope it's up soon. **update. The Beast just went down; arg!!!! Banshee is getting new drive wheels installed. Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.
  4. I have found a way around the cup issue. I just bring an empty Nestle water bottle. The plastic is so thin that you can flatten it and put the lid on. Time for water. Just open the cap and blow in the bottle, and you have a bottle for water. Been doing this the last 5 trips. No issues.
  5. I'm leaving at 4 to head up there. So should be about 4:40 before I get there.
  6. I will be renewing my Gold pass for 2015 with the all day dining plan. A little disappointed they didn't adjust the plan to allow you to exchange a meal for 2 treats, or maybe a meal, treat, and a drink. I usually don't go all day. I like to come up during the week after work and eat dinner, then have a treat when leaving. Since they switched to 4 hours between meals, that throws that out the window.
  7. I'm going up tomorrow after work at 4pm. Remember next weekend they close at 10pm on Sunday, just hope the GP forgets it closes late that day. lol
  8. So with Carowinds getting Fury 325, you have to wonder if KI will get a Giga soon? Figure CW, CP, KD have one, and Carowinds is getting one next year. You would thing the crown of the old Paramount Parks would get a Giga. Take out Timerwolf, you have plenty of area from behind Banshee, over the old SOB station, through Timberwolf, out the the wooded area around Timberwolf and into the part of the parking lot that is never used. ???? IDK, just wishful thinking.
  9. Here is my question. If a free Fast Lane Plus on a Sunday in the fall is a dumb giveaway; because crowds are already light. (Opinions from previous posts). Then How are they giving away the house? Crowds are light, they wouldn't sell many Fast Lane Pluses on Sunday anyway. So my point is, this is a way to increase early pass renewals with very little loss in profit; if any. Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.
  10. 10 rides on Banshee in an hour. Next Diamondback
  11. Anybody up there from KIC with a wait time update for today? I'm heading up after work.
  12. WindSeeker, since I am scared of heights. Drop Tower doesn't bother me too much, because your up, then right back down.
  13. Anybody going tomorrow? I was thinking of going to take some pictures with the new camera; so no riding.
  14. they are from KIC's twitter feed OK, then. In the future, please state and link to your source so we know where they're coming from. When were you promoted to admin status?
  15. You guys have it all wrong. I have inside knowledge that Don wanted to be closer to The Racer to get more rides in; so they are moving his office to the old arcade.
  16. Ok, thanks. I may push it off a little later. Thinking of making it a long weekend including Canada's Wonderland.
  17. Screamscape just said my a$$ was purple, because I sent an anonymous email saying it was.
  18. Well apparently the Banshee crew is allowing Fast Lane Plus riders to get preferred front row seating.
  19. Crowds are starting to die off.
  20. All I can say is Diamondstack stack stack stack. Only the main queue is half full. I've been in line for 25 minutes and just now left the covered queue. Seeing all kinds of empty seats, and stacked trains out the whazoo! Smh
  21. I'm on my way up, hope these people leave.**edit Just got here, and judging by the parking lot, this will be another day I don't ride Diamondback.
  22. Money talks and B.......
  23. Did I just see you use a nickname invented by Mr. YoungStud? Is this the apocalypse?ohiocolts's use of that name has warmed me up to it. I also call it Diamondstack. I have not been able to ride it the last 3 times at the park due to the extremely long lines. Mind you, I visit during the week, and the past 3 times all the queues were full. Until recently; I haven't seen the queue right by the lift hill used since the first year of operation. They really need to do something. Not sure, but I would say the seatbelt may have something more to do with it than the crew working it.
  24. I'm sorry but I fundamentally disagree.Stand-up Coasters seem pretty dated at this point. I think they were more a fad that has died down. The last brand new, built from scratch stand up coaster was Georgia Scorcher build in 1999. 15 years ago. I really don't see a major comeback for this style of coaster. If you recall, Kings Island once had one, but it was demolished for a couple reasons. At this point in the amusement industry I think it seems unlikely that a park would invest heavily in that option like that when there are other things that are "in" right now. Like wing coasters, which have seen quite a lot of attention from a rather modest series of installations. But even it we look past of that, I think a 300 ft. Stand up would just not be feasible. Seeing as most stand ups are pretty inversion heavy like Mantis. And you think that no coaster has broke 200 ft. And had an inversion other than SOB, and we all know how that turned out... Let alone a monstrous 300 ft. Which still, even in the typical coaster style has had very conservative amount of installations. Now do I think that Diamondback will always be the tallest coast at Kings Island? I believe it will remain the biggest and baddest coaster for a couple more years. Banshee filled a very import gap in Kings Islands Coaster line up, but I do see the possibility of giga down the road. Like what is up far, far north. Yes, I remember King Cobra, and rode it many times long before you were born. King Cobra was a very popular coaster; even after the accident. Many factors resulted in it's demise. One would be inferior steel used by Togo to build the coaster; causing constant repairs to be made to the steel, and second; the cost of maintaining a coaster whose manufacture was out of business. At this point in the amusement industry I think it seems unlikely that a park would invest heavily in that option like that when there are other things that are "in" right now. What did Kings Island just do?? To emphasize my point, that people thought inverts were fads and their day was over. It seems Banshee has brought new life to inverts. I wouldn't doubt we see some more new inverts from B&M in the next couple of years. As they say "Everything old is new again" One question I have is why would a 300ft stand up not be feasible? How is any other 300ft coaster more feasible? As Admiral Kirk once said "Young minds, fresh ideas."
