  1. Which day do you think will be busier: the first Friday it opens in September, or the Friday right before Halloween, the 25th. I'm thinking per-Halloween, but how busy is opening night?
  2. Thanks for sharing the details of your story - I find it possible that they are continuing to experiment with Fast Lane and how to make it work best (as they did with the SRL on Diamondback on '09 and '10) One thing that strikes me as odd is that you were told to go to the back of the line. Hadn't you just come through the line - why didn't the attendant just direct you to the blue side versus red? My experience this year is that there has been one line for GP and the new line for Fast Lane, but these meet at the entrance to the station where either line could go to either side. Is it possible you accidentally entered the Fast Lane line? I don't remember. I wanted to ride the Red Racer and was told I couldn't because it was only for Fast Lane. That's all.
  3. s= When both sides of The Racer are operating, both sides are open to the public 99.5% of the time. The former Red Racer line is now no longer in use, but you can still ride either side. I doubt the park would close a side of Racer only for the use of Fast Lane* customers. Well, you are wrong. On Saturday, they were running te Red Racer for only Fast Lane customers. I was told I could not ride it because I did not have a Fast Lane bracelet. I don't know what to tell you. Were you there on Saturday? Because I was, and they were running the Red Racer for only Fast Lane customers. Let me get this straight: On a typically busy day of the week, the park only opened one side of a ride to the public to decrease capacity. Yeah. THAT makes sense. This guy spells troll. Are you serious? I am telling you specifically what I experience on Saturday. I am a Gold Pass member. I've been to the park 8 times this year already. Why would I troll and make up some fantastical story about the place I love? Good grief. It happened, I don't care if anyone else on this board speaks up or not. I experienced this, and you can feel free to go ask the Guest Relations about the complaint I filed about this. It happened to me at approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, the 14th, shortly after the rains had stopped. Myself and my fiance' went to The Racer and saw the Red Racer running. We attempted to get onto it, and were told specifically by the attendant running the ride that it was for Fast Lane only, and that we could not ride as we did not have a bracelet. We were then told we had to now go to the back of the line, which was enornously long by this point. As I stated, it was running halfway down the basketball game and nearly to the convenience store. I really do not care if some random goof on this board believes me or not. I am just stating my own grievance with the system, which kept me from riding an entire coaster, the same grievance I filed with Guest Relations. I'm done here, however. Being called a troll for this is just ludicrous.

  5. The most annoying thing I've found to happen from Fast Pass, beyond the added wait time on already busy rides, is the Red Racer being ran entirely for Fast Pass and no one else. We were there for a short time over the weekend, and I had read on here that the Red Racer was running great this year, much better than the Blue. When I went to go ride it, I was told I could not because I did not have a Fast Pass. The Blue Racer line was out the gate up to the convenience store, while the Red train was sending maybe half full trains out each time. So now, Fast Pass entitles you to a ride that the rest of the park cannot access, apparently! I felt that was very ridiculous, and voiced my disagreement as such at Guest Relations. An entire coaster now, just for Fast Pass? No thanks.
  6. Any information from people that have worked the park or taken visits on Labor Day? Thanks!
  7. So, I'm trying to decide if I should go to the park on Monday or not. How busy has it historically been on Labor Day? Is the park expecting a big crowd this day? What's the scoop? If you have any helpful information or insight, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
  8. Nope. I don't have room for idol worship in my life. I'll keep my patriotism in my heart, where it belongs.
  9. I am a huge fan of all things American. I am not a huge fan of politicizing patriotism and using it to line your wallet. That's Lee Greewood. rex.
  10. So, has Lee Greenwood stood up next to America yet to defend it still today or is he still just singing about it?

  13. Oh boy, I can't wait for this!!!!! But can someone explain to me what this has to do with Freedom?
  14. Actually, I came here to ask a single question and immediately someone piped up with opinions and statements that had no place in here, trolling my thread. Granted, I don't know how to shut up and let things pass, but really, why did that guy need to come in this thread and say, "HEY I WISH THEY DIDNT SELL BOOZE!!!!!" That had no place in this thread and I hope that guy recieved a warning for trolling on this board. Ridiculous. I mean, there's a person now straight up calling me an alcoholic, simply for defending my viewpoint and having a differing opinion. Wow. And now I'm getting called out as a troll when all I did was ask one simple question. Thanks. You all sure are a welcoming, openminded bunch around here, aren't you? rex.
  15. Care to explain why? And don't give me Jesus as a reason. Give me a fully valid reason that doesn't involve religion. rex. well, that's about it but anyway i also don't like walking around an amusment park all day, any day not just sunday and having to smell beer on people. Sorry!!! I don't believe in your Jesus, and even if I did, I still wouldn't have a problem with drinking alcohol on the Sabbath. That's a day of relaxation, and what better way to relax than a nice, cool adult beverage and a bunch of coasters? We all don't share your religious viewpoints, so I am quite glad that the lawmakers in charge are not allowing people of a certain religion to specify when I can and cannot enjoy libations. Also, didn't your Jesus turn water into wine? Sounds like He'd agree with me! rex. i also said(just not in these words) that i don't like to be in a place with a suposed family atmosphere and there be beer for sale. I agree!!! That's why I think restaurants such as Applebees and O'Charley's and so forth should also not serve alcohol. What about the children that get exposed to such a seedy element when all they want is some chicken nuggets and a plate of macaroni?!?! I hope you will support family restaurants such as these eradicating their liquor sales, as well. And my god, what about when families go grocery shopping and they have to see all that hideous alcohol on the shelves? Should stores that pride themselves on feeding the children of the world sell such monstrosities? Basically, I think you have a silly opinion and I am glad the park does not listen to you. rex.
  16. Why does this need locked? I simply asked a question and it has generated a conversation of another form. Does divergent thought upset you so much that you have to see it squelched? Good grief! rex.

  18. And what does that have to do with spending a day in an amusement park, riding coasters? What a perplexing argument that avoids the topic at hand!!!! rex. I assume you drive a car to the amusement park, correct? Imagine the bad publicity for the park if Joe Schmoe got drunk at Kings Island and killed a guy driving home from KI, not saying you would be Said Drunk but that was a response to coaster_junky's "i personally don't think it should be though." Actually, I will be riding with someone else and will not be driving myself. In addition, as I'm sure you're aware, alcohol does not stay in your system for days upon days. You will do what is known to some people in the know as "sobering up." I know that can perhaps be a crazy thought that people can drink alcohol responsibly without getting behind a steering wheel and crashing, but it is completely possible and I will do just that tomorrow. Thanks for the concern, tho! rex. PS. Why is this also somehow worse on Sundays? Are you guys seriously Prohibitionists? Shouldn't you be expressing this concern all the time? I simply asked if alcohol was sold on Sundays and you are all losing your mind about my choice to consume alcohol as a reasonable, rational adult human being.
  19. It really isn't. I just like to use hyperbole as much as possible. In fact, its most likely not even in the top ten most important questions I've ever asked. Definitely in the top 20, however. rex.

  22. This is the most important question I will ever ask in my life. Please, answer me as quickly as you can!!! Thanks. rex.
