  1. I hate to say it but I would guess razing The Racer would be cheaper than leveling the land DA sits on for expansion. Which is why I'm okay with DA being there. We don't need a terrain hugging woody or park expansion in that area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Well if you raise the wage of the job (not min wage but the company does) you have a tendency to attract better employees. These employees usually work harder because a good paying job is hard to find. So yeah you are right again terpster! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You can't train motivation. You are either motivated because you love the work or are afraid to lose the paycheck. If you aren't afraid of losing your job and the job doesn't motivate you... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I read that when you first wrote it. Loved the article btw. I'm not sure there are words for that ride. The sensory overload/deprevation.... I still remember the breath on my neck and .... TBH Stitch doesn't even match in story let alone experience.... And funny enough the monster I imagined during the ride was a Xenomorph. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The Alien encounter was far and away better than Stitch. But yes so very very terrifying for kids... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Why are we bringing this up? Probably because it's a major news story and things like this should be exposed not swept under the rug. See Steubenville. Entice him? How? Kiss him? Dress a certain way? Flirted? She doesn't deserve to be raped or attempted rape for that. Studies have shown that "false rape" to attack a person is less than 5% of all "rapes". That's only counting the ones that were revenge sayings not he ones the police couldn't investigate (evidence, etc). I hate seeing this in the news, not because I don't want to read it or because we don't know the story. I hate reading it because a little girl's life may be forever changed. A young mans life may be forever changed because he may or may not have done what TV/Porn/Movies have taught him is alright to do. I hate reading about things like this because it shows a lack of respect for each other. Rape doesn't have to be full intercourse. It can be pressuring a person into a sexual act they don't feel comfortable with. Rape isn't always done at knife point. It can be done when a victim feels powerless to say no. They are powerless due to the fear of what may happen (person gets upset, doesn't take them home, shames them, psychological abuse, etc). Many men don't know what "rape" is and believe that it's only what's shown on Law and Order. If a woman tells you no/stop and you keep pushing.... That's rape or attempted rape. If you start fooling around and she decides half way through she doesn't want to do this anymore and you keep going that's rape too. And yes of course it can be the other way around as well. And no offense you may have meant well with your post but when you mention the victim brought it on herself comment (entice) you lost all of my respect and deserve this lengthy rant in response. We do not live in a society where the way a person dresses allows for the men in that society to attack her sexually. With all due respect, stop thinking that or stop posting. Period. Better to be thought and idiot than to speak and remove all doubt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well if the options are destruction or haunt. Or temporarily use a currently used building see the former Kill Mart arcade I disagree Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I didn't notice till this weekend but it looks like the old original access point is boarded up. Which makes sense as WindSeeker was placed right in the middle of the pathway that went to it. I guess I'm okay with a former building being given life as a haunt, but I miss that ride. It was such a unique experience and something more people could ride and enjoy. 9. Did the Breakfast with the characters this morning. It was really nice. For $10 the food and drinks were on spot (plus plenty of clean trays). It's the little things like this that make me happy/ok with renewing my membership. Also probably no surprise it happened during renewal season. But my son loved dancing with the characters. Thanks don! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Went tonight and did the Fright Feast. What a nice little idea but it was just a bit too cold to really enjoy the food and company. It was almost eat and go. Which in reality probably helps keep people from staying and eating too much. We ended up hitting a few scares tonight. Blackout- a cool idea. It was executed well. I like it better than Club Blood that was their. I wish there was more to it though. You could really play it up on your senses if you keep it dark the whole time (vs most). Slaughterhouse- skeleton key room was a nice addition. Overall a solid house. Wax Museum haunt- the skeleton key room on their was great. Really enjoyed it. Also loved the maze itself. The use of strobes and wall shapes really sell it. Overall a nice little trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. We are having serious convos about not renewing our meal plans. The price is right but it's not worth it to wait in line for 45 minutes to get 2 cheese coneys... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I thought we all agreed all loose items/pets were to be put in a locker or the provided lock box.... I always wondered where they got those raccoon tails for the prize wheels.... He obviously didn't follow the lockout procedure... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What saves Racer (in my mind) is that it's location doesn't scream easily developed land. Having been on the other side of the coaster the land is not leveled and would require a capital investment to make it park expansion able. That being said though it could happen. 14. I was going to ask where did the 24k figure come from? I think I missed where it was quoted from a real source? Even with being busy, how is it even humanely possible to be understaffed and not have enough food? And before you say "teenage crews, back to school, etc" there are hiring practices that could and should be implemented I avoid that.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. But facts are not emotional. It almost feels that the brand is too far damaged at this point. For every good PR the park does it comes off as shallow or just done to take blame off of other areas. The emotional impact of the other side is just too big at this point. You look at a Killer Whale and go yeah that thing shouldn't be in a "big swimming pool". It's all emotion. It feels good to say "these guys live longer in the wild, and they don't rake each other." Heck Free Willy the movie is based on that emotion. I'm surprised zoos are able to even stay open at this point in time because of the emotions people have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So they can't transfer the whales out either? What if they just close that park then can they transfer the whales? I'm not a big fan of a govt telling a business what it can and can't do with its property. Does California put the same demands on zoos or circuses that come through? 17. Daredevil and Blade were once signed away as well. As for movies and the parks it's actually in the best interest of fans that they are spread out. Sony (now with the help/guidance of Marvel) will produce Spider-Man films while Marvel focuses on Avengers movies. More movies of our favorite characters. If only Fox would come to a deal with Marvel for our Merry Mutants and the First Family it would be beneficial for fans. More movies being made that play in the same sandbox. Same thing with the Parks. If Disney buys back the rights (or however they do it) we may get a Superhero island eventually. After Toy Story Land, Star Wars, etc. or they stay at Universal, Disney gets its money and we get to ride Spider-Man or get pictures with the X-Men.... Plus as for the movies, Sony has stopped production of all planned Spidey movies and will do what Marvel wants so they work in their play arena. Fox on the other hand had a similar deal on the table (according to sites such As CBR and Fatman on Batman) but turned it down. So Marvel answered with the introduction of the Inhumans (a 2nd to 3rd tier property) to the MCU and the big push as of late of he Inhumans and the squashing of mutant centered stories. 18. Has there really been no updated photos from Universal lots? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You could also stay for much cheaper outside of the park or in a rented home as well. You also don't have to go for 10 days... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not that it matters, but I just did a quick search on the WDW website for 10 day ticket + hopper plus + photos and it came out at $653 (a 5 day ticket is $600).... its expensive all around though...
  21. Great point. Even the buffets had quality food for not that bad of price 45/plate but that included drinks and character meet and greets which beats being in the Fla sun for too long with a toddler. This convo makes me miss my WDW trip and sort of not want to renew my KI pass but it's "something to do all summer" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I actually (personally) think CF is doing the opposite. If you look at in park prices of things versus the gate price between the two its a striking difference. The Disney company appears to have a higher gate price to limit the amount of patrons in the parks (while keeping profits up) but keeping the prices low enough in the park to encourage more spending. CF seems to have a real low gate price but inflated prices in the parks (which means a lower number of people buying in the park but for more money). I sort of wish CF would adopt the Disney or Universal pricing scheme of cheaper in the park purchases buy a higher gate price. I would pay the 200-300 per family member for a KI pass (if I can guarantee going 10 times during the year with the cheapest gate price being $30ish). But thats just me.
  23. I think I understand (it may be the Sunday afternoon, or my head cold making me thick, or my son being up for 2 hours last night being sick). I take the other side though. By raising the price of the park, they are trying their best to eliminate the people who head to the park all of the time. Making it a once a lifetime or so thing isnt all that bad. You are right though, you want as many people in the park as you can handle. But if everyone who comes witnesses a 3 hour line, its not much for anyone. So by raising prices (both on passes and individual days) the amount of people spending 40 days a year in the park decreases. And in all fairness, if we look at the WDW complex which is (829 for the year). That gets you into the 4 parks, 2 water parks, golf course, and the ESPN complex (plus the photo moments). So you get lets say 6 parks and a golf course plus sporting events if you want. 829/7 areas (parks+water+ golf) = 118 per park. Thats to be used for 365 days per year. KI gold is is 90 for little less than 180 days for one park. As you said, its a theme park with better theming/etc so I would be okay with the price point they introduced. But then again, I think your reaction and my reaction is exactly what this is price raise is for. For me, I would drop the 900 per family member (If I lived in the Orlando area or plan on going 10 different times per year) as it would be worth it. But for you this may not be but that doesnt mean you wont still go once or twice a year. Neither of us is more right or more wrong...
  24. I can understand your point, but only sort of. The park had a record number of people. To help control the amount of people entering the park it can do only a certain number of things, one of those is raise prices. Higher prices lesser amount of people. There is a tipping point on all products of how much can they charge before they see a decline in numbers large enough for profit to decrease. I get what you are saying but if you go often doesn't that make DW just another park? The higher price would mean less people in the park right? Also not 100% sure about the vacationing family comment (feel free to explain that a bit more). Also if tomorrow KI said he all Gold passes are $200, they would see sales numbers from but probably not by 50%. Which means the park would make the same amount of money on the sales. Also if it rose to $300 would the park really see a 67% decrease in sales? Maybe but probably not. Fewer people in the park, smaller lines or that's the thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Well for the target audience it is worth it. If you lived or visit a lot the price is the equivalent of what 10 single day tickets? Plus parking and photos? Plus it helps cut down on people buying annual passes? This would be similar to KI rising their price for a season pass up to 300-600$ for the year. Honestly if you only go a handful of times this won't be worth it. But if you are a local or someone who visits the parks 15-20 times a year this is well worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
