  4. But is it worth the price of entry? Also super cold or not cold at all. Ohio weather... At least the zoos Festival of Lights is built around the light and their are animals there just in case you get bored with lights Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Because sometimes the bite of the law is cheaper than conforming to the law. Or if you don't plan on owning it for a long time it's easier to let it slide to the next owner. **All conjecture no real facts presented ** Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks Terp. I searched our boards but I'm on my phone so it's really easy that I missed it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Driving by the former park today and I noticed Couch Campers is gone. Did we discuss this and I missed it? Last I heard of the park and Couch was when the Eagle was taken down. Any news or info Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Now would be an appropriate time to help explain how SW is losing this battle and will probably never win it. The cognitive dissonance theory states that people are highly motivated to avoid incompatible beliefs or actions. So they will avoid hearing apposite views from their own, are unwilling to change their own belief, and will seek reassurance from places that support their own beliefs. So if you believe (rationally or irrationally) that SW is bad you will find info that supports you and oppose other information. Also the spiral of silence theory basically states that the media help foster a silence of minority view points. So working with the vocal majority that SW is bad, the media portrays more stories (more clicks more eyeballs) so that most people will fear isolation With their minority view point. The people with the minority view point (SW is good) will then examine other opinions and may confirm to what they perceive as a majority view point. Blackfish used the rhetoric theory through persuasion. They used logical, emotional, and ethical "proofs" to sway their audience. Meanwhile SW has had the hardest time penetrating any of the 3 proofs with the same audience.... And here I thought I would never use my studies in com theory... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The big blue elephant sits out front as well...
  11. I will honestly miss Sea World when it comes to them closing their doors (if/when it does happen).
  12. It may be made by the amusement park or lobbying, but it has some perks for kids in their learning process. A lot of learning doesnt happen in the classroom but in the social interactions available outside the classroom. Many schools have pushed up their school start for a multitude of reasons and only a few have to do with educational purposes. An attempt to make the 1st semester end before winter break. To allow teachers/students to leave the school building earlier in the year. To accommodate mandatory testing so as not to break up educational blocks.
  13. Could someone be challenging Shaggy on the history of deaths in the park Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The links work well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Welcome to KiC and thank you for such a moving/informative/thought provoking first couple of posts. TB is right. You forget that this ghost story is actually he story of a kid and his family. So sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yet at Universal the loading and unloading process is relatively smooth and easy due to no loose items Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Here is my overall gripe with food. I thought about this while in line at Arby's today. For the most part, it's a shorter wait at Snake Pit for a fresh made (read grilled in front of you) sandwich than it is to get food at the Skylines, Fest Haus, or Soak City establishments. Why? You have very limited food menus at each place where food should be ready to go and be put out very quickly. If you sell burgers and you see a line of 50 people, then you should have 55 burgers ready. The lines should move fairly quickly. Arby's had probably 10 sandwiches ready to go during lunch time. So if you ordered it, it was ready to go. At a place like the Chicken Shack when you know lunch time is hitting (11-1ish) you should just keep making chicken fries and toast. You keep making the plates and put them up for people to grab and go. It should only be a bit slower if someone is ordering a salad. Here is how I (read no experience but learned from my dad who has experience and I worked in a few spots myself) would fix a place like Festhaus. Left line is Pizza and right line is Burger and Chicken. Have a speed rail thrown in against the walls for refills only. That way you can have two "lines" converge at the drink stand. So that way if you want just a drink you are not waiting behind pizza peeps and vice versa. Now your burger people and your pizza peeps won't slow each other down. It would be hurtful for the families that want both, but pizza seems to be the slowest line as some people want whole pizzas. As for the rest of the food eateries you need a drink only line. These are the people not ordering food. The line needs to be clearly marked as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. That food line in Soak City is one of he absolute worst lines possible.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Do you know when the booking window for Disney Resort hotels opens? I thought it was 11 months out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Usually 11 months out, unless you are in the DVC... 9 months at your home resort, 6 months at others..
  20. Well in all fairness, 9 years ago he was, 8-10 years old? Adults have a tendency to ignore youngins even if what they speak is the truth. Also, if I was a KI employee who didn't know anything about the organ and saw that it broke/stopped working I would probably request a specialist to come in and look at it. Maybe they deemed it too expensive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well if you have to pay for workers to stay after and clean they may want the employees done by no later than 30-60 mins after closing which means you close early to be done in time. Some places may want the employees off the clock by closing time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My wife lived in Boyd for her four years, I was in Thompson Theater, and the radio/TV stations while I was there. I'm taking my bowling team to a match in Zanesville this January and we will be doing a campus tour as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Wow that looks gorgeous. I miss the fish bowl... Glad you had a great time and you make time for a Muskie visit as well. As time marches forward, I find myself missing New Concord more and more. Thank you for the pictures I do appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I would guess based on terp that the "sponsors" paid to be in the park and get certain perks (locations) based on sponsorship. Non-sponsors may be franchised to work in the park (park pays them to be there?) maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Nothing is free. I'm not sure what the restaurants gain by being in the park while I see why the park wants them (oh look Skyline, let's eat here versus just leaving). Which makes me think the park has to pay them.... Yet I can see how the restaurants win more than the park as in they get "advertisements" in the park for the season, so they would have to pay the park... But the restaurants are staffed by the park and assuming the food is made in the park, which seems like a franchise.... I have no idea which way it works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
