  1. FYI, Dont mean to Hijack the Wristband thread wth this, but it wasnt worth making a new one for. Regular souviener (sp.) refills are 1.99. However, if you opt to use the Freestyle Coke machine in Hanks Burrito Shack, the refill is 2.99 Thought that was kinda weird... Is that for real or did I encounter a poorly trained individual who ripped me off by a dollar?
  2. I think this calls for a....
  3. Man! Cant believe the Hate for Stitchs great Escape at Magic Kingdom! Love it! Personally, I really dont miss the Antique cars at KI. Let them rest in peace.. (Let the Flaming begin. lol!)
  4. Kings Island 10-15 times prolly, Cedar Point in August and maybe a visit to either Carowinds or Kings Dominion sometime. We shall see.
  5. Hmmm... KI Gold Pass plus dining? 1 Meal and 1 Snack on any day your gold pass is valid. How much would I pay for this? 89.99 for the pass. Id say I would pay maybe 160 for a Gold pass with Dining.. anyone else think im off on this?
  6. True, But you can generally stay in your seat and get about 4 or 5 rides before you have to get out. Love Flight deck as well.
  7. Going to catch some heat for this, but I would swap Adventure Express for Corkscrew!
  8. Ill have to agree with Vortex. As much as I love the ride, The shoulder restraints are the WORST! It takes every muscle in my neck and back to keep from smacking my head on the sides!
  9. just Noticed something. I know it was 1974, but Theres no notion about the park accepting Credit Cards on the payment options. When did the the Park start accepting Credit Cards?
  10. Yes, Indeed, someone DOES know.. -Benred23...Channeling my Inner Terpy...
  11. ...As far as the argument goes that Kings Island Dosent have the revenue To do themeing, I Agree with RD Reynolds. Simple Changes Like Changing the music on International street to match them Theme of "International" Street would do Wanders for the Overall park Experience. Have the Workers working Flight Deck wear Flight Suits. just little things like that.
  12. And even then, we've all seen some effects in that ride break, with little to no effort to restoring them... "Boo Blasters, sponsored by Red Gold" might not let that happen... Red Gold wouldn't want its name associated with a ride where people stepped off saying, "Awe, last time it had ______. I guess it's broken."
  13. Ok. Im going to start off this Topic by Saying, I Love Kings Island. Its been my Home Park and a Summer destination for as long as I can remember. No matter how many Dumb decisions I see them Making, their still going to be my park. Im creating this Thread for this reason. I just recently returned from a week long trip to Walt DisneyWorld in Orlando with my Family. Had a Simply Wonderful time. I walked around the Various parks taking in the sights and I found myself saying many more times than I can count, "Why Can't Kings Island do this?" Generally Every Ride at Disney is an experience. From Test Track, To Soarin, To Space Mountain, To Expedition Everest and the list goes on and on. Generally every ride has its own story and Theme. Complete with Cast Members wearing Corrosponding Outfits to fit the Theme of the Ride. We got a glimpse at How good Kings Island could be with themeing when Paramount owned it. Top Gun Operators wore flight suits, Etc. And Dont even get me started on the Fast pass system at Disney as opposed to the Joke of a one we have here at Kings Island. I guess my point is this, How hard would it be for Kings Island to Envolve themeing into its rides? It would make the experience so much more enjoyable for the Public and Make each ride an Experience and not just a Weee, Okay lets get off.. Kind of thing. I know Im basically comparing apples to oranges here. Kings Island will never be the Vacation destination that a Disney Destination would be, But they could be so so much better!
  14. I agree.. Those of us with 3 kids.. after a long day at the park, They tend to get a bit, um, Cranky in its lightest terms. A Shuttle bak to GWL would be a great addition..
  15. What is the Bullseye picture on the Top of the Eiffel Tower for? Never noticed that before..
  16. ....Which would explain why most of the Wooden Coasters you see nowadays are not Painted and Just, Wooden!
  17. Dip it in some batter, deep fry it and serve it with some bbq sauce.. Mmmm, Deep Fried Spam..
  18. Yes, Indeed, Someone does know!.... Benred23, Whose always wanted to do that but someone always beat me to it..
  19. On the Subject of Winterfest. We all know WF 2005 was basically a flop for the park. What Im curious about though is was Winterfest a Moneymaker when it was ran back in the 80s and 90s? If Im not mistaken, wasn't it a yearly attraction at the park for many years? why did it flop so bad when Paramount tried it?
  20. Not to Hijack the forum or anything, but 1 real quick question. Is the Freezing Equipment for the fountain still in place or was it removed after winterfest that year??
  21. Ill go with 1999. Totally Random Guess..
  22. Ill say 1984.. Not sure when the Topiaries were fully removed around the fountain. but there still kinda there in that pic..
  23. Wow! I had no Idea that was the old Skyride station! Thats awesome! I thought the only remnant from the skyride was the footer over by outer hanks. Great Info and great Pics once again Standbyme!
  24. Awesome Job on the Pictures. This is a Topic I look forward to every day. Having said that, I'll go against what alot of people are saying on here and say I'll go with the 74 pics on almost off of them simply because of the Lack of Trees! The park looked so New and well kept and not cluttered without all the dense foliage all over the place. Would have loved to have seen all the carefully trimmed hedges on International Street and going up the Eiffel Tower and looking off and seeing rides ad people insted of Trees! Not that I have anything against trees, but IMO, Its overkilled!
