  1. Welcome back! 1. That depends on crowds, weather/maintenance, your strategy of touring the park, and whether you buy Fast Lane. It's usually possible to get to all the major roller coasters on a weekday, especially if you arrange your day to avoid peak ride lines. (eg. don't get in line for Raptor in the morning.) A two-day trip would give you more time to relax, get re-rides, see shows, and avoid feeling rushed. You could also avoid the late-night driving that a single day open-to-close trip from Cincinnati would entail. 2. There's a decent selection of inexpensive hotel rooms in the area. Some properties are best avoided. Most of my trips to Sandusky are day trips, so I'll let others give suggestions. 3. If some of you have season passes, each passholder can bring one friend per day for ~$40. Meijer sells discount tickets; single day tickets in Columbus stores are ~$50 (or ~$52 with unlimited soft drinks). Two-day discount tickets are ~$85 if I recall correctly.
  2. For what it's worth, part of a plan for demolition and waterpark expansion has been filed with one of the park's counties. See the Carowinds Connection forum; it was quickly posted to the Thunder Road thread there. If Aurora's Wildwater Kingdom were to close, Cedar Point's Soak City could also be seen as a possible destination for attractions. Much of that park is woefully outdated.
  3. In the name of customer service, it's rather unlikely that Cedar Fair would report these transactions to credit bureaus (or sell the debt to collection agencies that would do the same). But, yes, they certainly could. Since payments are automatic, most delinquent accounts are probably that way by accident (eg. from an expired or replaced credit card). Personally, I would never use the payment plan, as I like to avoid opening unnecessary lines of credit that could turn into problems down the road.
  4. Knott's Berry Farm labeled WindSeeker a 5.
  5. For those planning to upgrade their season pass to platinum, note that the price of that is increasing as well. At Knott's Berry Farm, where the spring season pass sale ended on schedule, the adult platinum price is $204 (up from $198). To upgrade a pass, one must pay the difference between the current price of the new pass and the price paid for the old pass (gold was ~$90 last fall).
  6. The spring season pass sale is typically extended a few days, for the benefit of procrastinators who wait until the holiday and then forget. The fall sale has also been extended a few days beyond Closing Day in prior seasons. Such an extension is never guaranteed, so relying on it would be unwise. Kings Island gold passes definitely will go away after this Thursday.
  7. Jonathan is right. Here are relevant excerpts from the current payment plan agreement, which you digitally signed when renewing online: Nevertheless, I recommend calling the park in case an exception is possible in your circumstance.
  8. Sad, for sure, to see a classic removed. Hopefully a worthy replacement is part of the park's expansion plans. I do wonder how this decision will be viewed 5 years from now. With this announcement, I definitely plan to take my first visit before the ride's closing weekend.
  9. Kings Island's water park has been included with park admission since it opened.
  10. If they allow you to do the upgrade, it would probably be the cost of the 2-day ticket ($62) minus what you paid for your 1-day ticket. Some ticket types (eg. Group Sales, complimentary tickets) might not be eligible. Call the park for current policies: 513-754-5700. If you're visiting before the gold season pass deadline, you might consider upgrading to that instead. This would include unlimited visits and free parking (among other benefits) for $117 minus what you paid for your 1-day ticket.
  11. The events page on the desktop version of visitkingsisland.com has more details:
  12. It's worth noting that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment doesn't own the name "Busch Gardens". It's used under license.
  13. In addition to your voucher, make sure to have photo ID and (if applicable) the credit card you used for your online order.
  14. Disney has those rights and uses the characters at Disney Parks.
  15. It was at the ride, but wasn't operating, during Coasterstock. According to reports from others, it was operating on Opening Day 2015. Hopefully it will be back up later this season.
  16. Tickets now on sale, via Cedar Fair's ticket store powered by Accesso. https://shopcf.accesso.com/clients/cedarfair/affiliate/index.php?m=9476&ec=400&username=BGKD&password=BGKD
  17. I'd be glad to see a new season-long themed walk-through attraction; these are a dying breed. Compared to Haunt mazes, perhaps it would be focused more on detailed scenes & funhouse effects than on paying associates to scream at guests. Doing the latter full time could be stressful on a scaractor's voice, and I can't imagine these being easy positions to fill 7 days a week during the summer. The dedicated buildings are serving as storage for Haunt props. KI owns a lot of them.
  18. If you ride Diamondback in the last row this season, be aware that you might get wet. The back of my head was soaked when I got off. As of last night, the water smells particularly ripe.
  19. I was nearby. The shoe's owner was escorted from the ride by Mason PD and park security.
  20. It's dispatching on interval this morning!
  21. Lines becoming much shorter this evening. Beast and Diamondback still have long waits.
  22. The park is very crowded today despite the wet weather.
  23. Also, the Picnic Grove has been newly refreshed for 2015.
  24. The solution to that problem is to get a subset of the group to start walking towards an attraction. Some will follow, others will split off, and that's OK! People enjoy the park in different ways. Although, it is fun to get to a line separator as a group of <hilariously large number>. Bonus points if that number is as large as (or exceeds) the capacity of the ride vehicle.
  25. It's not exclusive to normally single riders, but that sort of thing happens quite often. See the meetups forum here; the people who frequently participate are a rather welcoming group. It can definitely be fun to visit amusement parks with others who really enjoy them.
