First of all, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped me out with my questions. Thanks to all of you guys, I had an unbelievable time at KI! I'm sorry I'm posting this so late - life has been, to say the least, chaotic.
I ended up buying a Starlight Ticket for admission to the park on Sunday night, which gave me 5 full hours. At the gate, I almost freaked out because the employee refused to scan my e-ticket, stating that it was "not a ticket", but a "piece of paper." Hm. Luckily, he saw the barcode at the top, and after a minimal delay, we were on our way! The fountains/International Street looked gorgeous, just like I had remembered.
Everyone in my group had just eaten, so we decided to hold off on the big roller coasters until a little later. We turned left into Action Zone, and walked right onto Flight Deck for our first ride of the evening! One of my absolute favorites. The line for Invertigo looked a bit long, so we made a mental note to come back later. Instead, we headed to Adventure Express, which was also a no wait ride. There were a bunch of little kids in the cars in front of us who were bouncing up and down, as this was their first roller coaster ride ever! They were so cute, and it reminded me of when I went on AE, which also happened to be my first roller coaster, as a kid. So by this time, only about 10 minutes had passed since we had entered the park, and I definitely expected the lines to get a bit longer as we continued towards the back of the park.
Our next ride was on the Blue Racer (I wanted to go on Red, but the line for Blue seemed a lot shorter - when we actually got up there, they were about the same), which was a bit jolty. Regardless, I still loved it - my friend and I screamed the entire ride for no reason at all. Hahaha it was a lot of fun, especially considering that the first time I went on it was in first grade, when I was bawling my eyes out the entire time. After The Racer, we decided to go on two milder rides to cool us off - Zephyr and Shake, Rattle, and Roll. I'm not a fan of "whirly" rides (at least that's what I like to call them), but they both had no wait, so I didn't mind.
Then, we wanted to go to Diamondback, but we walked the wrong way and ended up at the Action Theater instead. o_o So we had to turn around, and on our way there, we passed by Backlot Stunt Coaster. The wait was not bad at all, only about 15 minutes, and then we were on our way! Not a fan of the flames at all - especially on a hot summer day! I was sad to see that they had stripped off all of the stickers on the cars and such - they look so... dead. But regardless, the ride was still nice.
And then, finally, we made it to Diamondback. I had never been on it before, and the first hill initially kind of intimidated me. But I soon found myself forced into line (loved that display of lost electronics) and within 30 minutes, we were ascending! I ended up sitting in one of the outside seats - and it was unbelievable. I loved it, even though I had to close my eyes when we descended the first hill (the ride photo was horrible hahaha). Definitely my favorite ride of the night. My only regret is that we didn't get to go on it a second time.
Our next stop was the Crypt, which I didn't like at all. I remember it being so much cooler in its Tomb Raider days, especially in terms of effects/lighting. Anyways, moving on.
Then we went to The Beast, which was also a first for me, as well as all of the other people in my group! The wait was close to Diamondback's, around 25 minutes, but the ride was definitely worth it. Super jolty, but it was interesting to not know what was going to happen next. My friend kept saying, "We're almost done! We're almost done!"... and we weren't. Ride photo was horrible, as usual - it gave us all a good laugh, though.
The Vortex came next, another first! We were in the second to last car, which was the closest we ever were to the back the entire night (every other ride we were in the middle). I loved it all - the loops (which I love so much more than hills), the corkscrew... eeeee. A little headbanging at the end, but otherwise, it was great! Second favorite ride only to Diamondback.
After a quick reride on Shake, Rattle, and Roll, we headed back up to Invertigo, which had (understandably) a 40 minute wait. I was on the side initially going forward, and everyone's faces were priceless! By the time we got off, it was pretty dark, so we decided to hike up to Firehawk for what would be our last ride of the night. When we got in line, it seemed to be broken down, and when it started up again after about 10 minutes, they waited for a considerable amount of time between each train. However, it started to operate normally again pretty quickly, and we ended up staying in line for about 45 minutes (our longest wait of the night). It was just like how I had remembered it - awesome awesome awesome. As we were heading back to the station, the fireworks were going off, which was a great view.
When we got off Firehawk, it was past 10, so we made our way to the exit through International Street. Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular was really pretty!
We were so close to getting on everything! The only thing we missed out on was Flight of Fear - and we didn't get to pass through Planet Snoopy either. However, I'm SO thankful that the lines weren't bad at all. I was expecting them to be much longer, especially for a Sunday with gorgeous weather, but I'm glad I was proven wrong! All in all, I had a great time, and I'm definitely looking forward to going back next summer! Thank you all again for your advice and help!
