  1. Nice report! I'm just catching up from my big vacation and so am just now reading through all the trip reports that have been posted over the past month. What. Did. Gary. Say. We're. Getting??? Oh, and how many grains of salt should I take that with?
  2. Glad you had fun with us! I'm just now reading this as I catch up on things that I missed during my big vacation.
  3. I remember opening night last year with Jesse, Brad, and two others that I can't remember off the top of my head. We did every maze, except I missed Club Blood while trying to catch up with them. At the end of the night we began discussing personal favorites and worsts; all five of us had different favorites, and some people's favorites were other people's worsts. So it truly is "in the eye of the beholder".
  4. Last year on opening night, the far left door was left up until shortly before opening. I assumed it was just so people could access the restrooms, but it could also allow for that as well.
  5. Last year on opening night, when opening at 7:00, the metal detectors were opened at about 6:57 and the overhead doors in front of the turnstiles were slowly raised to reveal the Wall of Monsters at precisely 7:00. This year they open at 6:00, so procedures may or may not be the same. EDIT: What ^he said. I should point out that on opening night last year, they let the crowd beat on the doors for a minute or two before they were raised slowly, not flung open.
  6. Thank you, Don, for helping resolve this issue, even this late in the evening. Your posts on here are always appreciated.
  7. Overrated? The Raven, Magnum XL-200, and ShieKra are the ones that come to mind for me.
  8. This thread reminds me that I need to find time to update my lists. I rode quite a few new coasters in Florida.
  9. Technically, you do not stop at the drop. There is a very sluggish chain pulling you over until gravity gets the best of you and takes over. What seat did you ride in? SheiKra is very much a front seat ride. Front row, extreme left end.
  10. Click Edit on the first post, then Use Full Editor. You should then be able to change the thread title at the top of the page.
  11. No. SheiKra was... underwhelming to me. Just didn't do enough, and the gimmick of dropping from a standstill was just that: a gimmick. All it did was make me say to myself, "Come on, go!" Definitely not a must-do for me if I go back to BGT.
  12. Mission: Space from Epcot. Either that or the new Star Tours. I rode those two more times than any other ride during my time in the Orlando area. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them (although I'm slightly biased on the latter simply because I'm a huge Star Wars fan).
  13. Not at KI, but I got stuck briefly on the Spiderman ride at IOA three times a couple weeks ago. The first time, the ride stopped for a minute or two as my vehicle was in line to unload. The next day, in one of the final scenes, the ride just stopped, the video kept going and the effect was lost. After a few seconds, they got it going again, but we had no sound for most of the rest of the ride, which stopped for a second or two here and there. As we got off, they offered us an immediate re-ride, which I took, only to have the ride encounter similar problems in nearly the same spot. We were offered yet another re-ride, but I didn't take it this time.
  14. This. I recently upgraded to Pro on Flickr both because of the 200-photo limit that I had already exceeded and because of the 300 MB per month upload limit that I knew I was going to exceed on my Florida trip (which technically ends today as I begin the two-day drive home tomorrow morning). By upgrading, you also gain the ability to organize your sets into collections (essentially a nested folder system like your hard drive), which does wonders for helping organize your photos when you have that many. It's well worth the small cost.
  15. Always tough to lose someone to cancer, especially a father. I am sending prayers to his family. (P.S. Can someone post Keith's screen name? There's not a whole lot of real names I know on here, and I'm sure others may be wondering as well.)
  16. Vortex: 1 Diamondback: 3 to 6 depending on my mood Beast: >1 (never tried to marathon this) Flight Deck: >1 (ditto) Backlot Stunt Coaster: >1 (ditto again) Firehawk: 2 to 3 Flight of Fear: 2 Invertigo: 1 Adventure Express: 1, maybe 2 if I'm bored. And last but certainly not least: Racer: "What do you mean Coasting for Kids is over?!?"
  17. Don't forget the Freestyle machines. jcgoble3, who's discovered that he loves Orange Mello Yello (but would still prefer Pepsi products)
  18. ^I posted the instructions in the Random Photo of the Day thread for you.
  19. Magnum XL-200. The single absolute most painful ride I have ever ridden.
  20. 1) Sorry 'bout that. 2) After the time I've spent on KIC, I am no longer surprised by any topic drift.
  21. You would be correct for 2009 per this archived page. I can't find the 2008 schedule on the Wayback Machine.
