It's in Dayton, just south of the I-75/I-70 interchange (see their directions page). As to why nothing's been said about it, it's still under construction. They're hoping to open sometime this summer. You can take a look at their active Facebook page here.

Thanks for the report! Interesting that you say that the Dodgems are running better; I'll have to give them another try soon. Though I can't wait for these bumper cars to open up; they sound infinitely more interesting.

busch gardens cedar fair?

The source of confusion here may be that Busch Gardens also offers a "Platinum Pass", which is good for admission to all Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Parks and their associated waterparks (except Discovery Cove). -
QUICK! Holiday World help?!

I nearly busted out laughing when I read that ("nearly" because I had to consciously suppress it because someone's sleeping in the next room). I'll have to add that to my list for Holiwood Nights next year. -
Nice photos! And that's as much a compliment to you as it is to The Racer crew. As for ohiocolts' age, I wasn't surprised; his profile page clearly lists his age. Apparently nobody else thought to check that.

^ I smell the sarcasm (though I would love to actually see that happen, even though it won't, at least for 2013).

That may have been true in September and October last year, but I'm pretty sure both were available this spring.

I know the Circle S gas station just down 162 west of HW sells discount tickets, though I don't remember what price. -
Great job with what you've posted so far! Keep it coming! I LOVE it! I am a huge Star Wars fan, so that's awesome!

Me either, I was quite surprised after my 71 rides for the day. Likewise, after 105 laps, I was not sore at all on Monday. I wonder why? On another note, GKTW has posted their own article on the event: http://www.gktw.org/...-2012-recap.asp The photo they used is from KI's event, and look who's in the front row, train's left. I knew there was a benefit to starting the day in the front row...

Great video! I rarely take the time to watch videos posted on these forums, but I watched that one all the way through. Nice job. As I discovered on opening day this year, sometimes taking photos of rides can be almost as fun as riding the rides.

Definitely the Voyage. The Raven, The Beast, Tornado (Stricker's Grove), and the Legend round out my top five. You should! If you live in the Cincinnati/Dayton area, it's only about 3 hours to get there. It's worth it. Agreed. Definitely worth the trip, though I should note that the Dayton area is actually about 4 hours away.

If you like to ride The Beast, clap your hands! If you like to ride The Beast, clap your hands! If you like to ride The Beast 'cause The Beast is really sweet, If you like to ride The Beast, clap your feet!... Gotcha! They get me with that every time, even though by now I should know that it's coming.

????? I thought all seats gave essentially the same experience. Can you explain why seat 50 is different?

Why does this go under this thread, it's a very simple question... Yeah, I get asked that all the time. Hell, I was asked that question at least three times during Coasting for Kids. So many people rely on their cell phone for the time these days instead of a watch like I do, and when they stick it in an overpriced locker to avoid losing it in DB's nets or having it ruined on WWC, they're left with no way to determine the time except to ask someone with a watch. The question is even more common in the waterpark, where I'm often the only person in sight with a watch because mine is waterproof. So it's not a dumb question at all.
-
It's not a repeat because it's a different case; I'm just pointing out that a similar situation has made the news before.

Also see this discussion on a nearly identical situation: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25001-teen-girl-with-no-hands-turned-away-at-universalseaworld/

Excellent trip report! I think both you and the crew miscounted, as I counted exactly 50 laps before lunch. I'm fairly certain of that because my method of counting (the lap function on my wristwatch's stopwatch) has built-in error checking, in that if I look down and see an abnormally high lap time when there wasn't an unusual delay, then I know I missed one. Anyway, I'm glad you had fun, and I hope to see you back at CFK next year!

I also love Mantis and don't find it painful. OTOH, I disagree with "it never has much of a line"; on a week last year when crappy weather created 15- to 20-minute lines for Millie, the wait for Mantis was often double that.

In any of the pictures, I'm the guy with the small camera bag strapped to his right hip and the shoulder strap for said bag running from right hip to left shoulder. FOX 19's story is here: http://www.fox19.com/story/18750619/thrill-seekers-raise-money-for-give-kids-the-world In the picture with the story, you can see me in the front row, train's left.

Wait: they're going to replace the whole park?

Glad you had fun! Which suggests that my theory about that hitch is correct. I've always figured that the hitch is caused by the block system, in that the computer won't let the train on the lift hill proceed past that point until the other train has cleared the brake run. With only one train, that would not be an issue, thereby eliminating the hitch. Can anyone on here confirm that?

Thanks for posting once again! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.
