  1. Accuweather claims no precipitation for that day. That's a 19-day forecast, though, so it might just be slightly inaccurate in the sense that there's a chance it might have missed the remnants of a tropical storm moving through.
  2. I highly doubt it will, because by that time schools will be out for the summer. That's a Tuesday, so it shouldn't be too packed, but the park won't be empty either.
  3. *sigh* The closest park using FastPass is almost a thousand miles away. Kings Island uses Fast Lane. The two terms are not interchangeable, and the two programs could not be more different.
  4. I have no rewards at all available to me other than the special Memorial Day offer. I've visited twice and spent a little over $20. If the rewards are based mostly on money spent with little weight given to number of visits, then this program will essentially be useless to me, as I can't afford to spend much in the park (especially this year with my penny-pinching for my Orlando trip).
  5. The noon to 7pm time limit only existed in the first couple of weeks or so after it was implemented. It was quickly lengthened to all day, and remains that way today.
  6. As of yesterday, there was a FUN Perks table outside the main gate between the ticket sales/pass processing building and the group sales building.
  7. Closed-circuit surveillance is your friend. Throwing objects of any kind at an occupied, moving vehicle constitutes assault. I hope they threw the book at... I mean, carefully opened the book and administered level, fair justice upon said miscreant. Or perhaps they should just throw the book at him. After all, that's essentially what he did to someone else. Eye for an eye, anyone?
  8. BUMP! Yesterday on Firehawk, the ride op on the microphone told the riders that were getting off, "Enjoy the rest of your day here at Kings Island, where dreams do not come true... but you can still enjoy your day anyway." I laughed out loud (I was next on the back row and thus close to him), but nobody else did, so he commented, "Thank you guy in the back!"
  9. Diamondback was also on that sign at opening, yet it opened around 11:00. Both had been removed from the sign by 3:00 when I went out to my car.
  10. Yeah. Why do half the people that go by not want to get wet? Hello! You're in a waterpark, people! Don't think using that empty tube as a shield is going to keep you dry.
  11. I like my Beast night rides, but I think that would be a little too cold for me.
  12. ^ Exactly! I spent most of my time on the other side of the bridge. My arms are just barely long enough to reach out and hold the buckets up, but I can reach them. The streams that you use to fill them up are tricky, because if you reduce the water pressure on one, the pressure goes up on the other, so if the person next to you is just playing with that stream, it can be very difficult to fill up the bucket. But when you get two people on the buckets that understand that issue and know to set both streams to fill the buckets and not turn them off when the buckets are full, you can have a lot of fun.
  13. My favorite is the buckets and sprayers on the bridge near what used to be Down Under Thunder. I could spend an hour soaking people with those things. In fact, I did just that on Saturday.
  14. This is the second report on these forums of suits discussing SOB in public. I'm encouraged by the fact that the tight lips we've see the past couple of season have, if these reports are to be believed, loosened and that visible (or at least audible) progress is being made toward a decision. Based on Dwight_Schrute's post, I would expect an announcement in August or September. I don't think anything else can be drawn from those snippets of conversation.
  15. My visit today is already in my account. The only visit that isn't is opening day, which was before the program was implemented. I bought a cheesesteak and a milkshake today and a Subway sub in Soak City last Saturday, and I'm still at one star.
  16. I rode WindSeeker shortly after 3:00 today. The seats definitely don't swing toward each other as much as they used to with the new shock absorbers. I didn't notice a difference in how far out away from the tower they swung.
  17. Exercise? Seriously, thanks for the report. I'm heading to KI for the whole day tomorrow, and I'm hoping lines are still that short.
  18. I believe you can just register when you get back home. My understanding (which I do not guarantee is right) is that points will accumulate even if the card is unregistered, you just need to register to redeem for rewards. I invite others who know more to correct me on that if I'm wrong. Once you register one card and log in with it, go to "Manage Account" --> "Add a Season Passholder", and you can then add the other cards to the same account.
  19. I thought it cost $12 for that locker, too. Only if you don't have a Gold or Platinum Pass.
  20. You can use a free locker at Soak City. It's called the trunk of your car.
  21. No, I highly doubt that they actually wanted it closed on opening day. I am, however, suggesting that someone dropped the ball on this big time. Whether that someone is at CF or Mondial is beyond my capability to speculate.
  22. Due to their obession with themselves and the members tendency to all think like robots, I tend to take information on TPR about as valuable as info found on SS. ...except that there's a video of CW's version showing the new dampers. Video doesn't lie. The point here is that at the close of last season, only KI's and CP's versions did not have the new dampers. They had essentially SIX months to add them, and they instead waited until it was so late that the ride doesn't open until a month or more into the season. Last year they blamed the delays on the weather. Weather was not an issue this past offseason, so IMO there's really no excuse for this delay. They had all of November, December, and half of January to do the work at KI and CP before vertical construction began at KD and Carowinds, plus most of April after the new ones opened and construction people were no longer needed there. The fact that it didn't get done before the season started is inexcusable.
  23. The 2012 WS shock absorbers were not used or tested prior to Carowind's 2012 version. Oh? What's your source on that? This photo from last year clearly shows them on Knott's version: And a few posts on the TPR forums indicate that they were put on CW's version last October.
  24. Not trying to be argumentative, but did we? - I don't recall any info being shared about it not opening with the park for the season - After it didn't open, I heard Knotts was also down - New ones and Cedar Point all opened on time Maybe I missed something, but it caught me by surprise. Carowinds opened their new (2012) WindSeeker the end of March with the new shock absorbers and it was known (but perhaps not here- other sites- namely CB: http://coasterbuzz.c...-its-WindSeeker http://coasterbuzz.c...-fun-than-scary http://www.KICentral...__fromsearch__1 that discussed it) about all the WindSeekers being updated. There is just not enough days to properly test the two new WS (as well as test the new shock absorbers), make the decision to use the new shock absorbers on the older models, manufacture the new shock absorbers, and then update the 2011 models- KI just happens to be last on the list. They had all offseason to update the 2011 models because the new shocks were used on the Knott's version from the day it opened in August. That's what I thought too. But I'm sure it's nothing big *Knocks on wood.... DB was down for mechanical issues briefly on opening day this year, though that downtime could easily be confused for a weather issue since they went down just minutes before everything went down for lightning and were back up shortly after other rides got the all clear.
  25. Yeah, my Saturday visit is showing up now.
