  1. Funny you should bring that up, because Greg just tweeted this: https://twitter.com/#!/KIGMGREG/status/197859140922650625
  2. Huh? The past few years, The Beast has had ERT all year long (except for the brief WS/Vortex stint last year). It was not just "in the fall". Simply put, it is no longer in the ERT lineup. There is absolutely no reason to believe that it will return in the fall.
  3. I'm in the group that says "good". Of CP's 13 steel coasters (not counting the kiddie rides), I rode them all last June. Wildcat ranked 12th of the 13 on my list, below DT. I found it to be jerky and occasionally mildly painful, and I hated the abrupt stops in the station. I certainly won't miss it.
  4. More information: http://www.cedarpoint.com/celebration-plaza-expansion
  5. Speaking of which, another difference between suspended coasters and inverted coasters is that suspended coasters cannot have loops (due to the swinging design), while inverted coasters can do loops.
  6. I absolutely LOVE that response! Sometimes a question is so dumb that that's the only response one can come up with.
  7. Me... and me! jcgoble3, who occasionally prefers being clueless
  8. Kings Island - The Beast Holiday World - The Raven (that may change in early June depending on what the retracking did to the Voyage) Stricker's Grove - Tornado Cedar Point - Millennium Force Disney's Hollywood Studios - Star Tours (the original one; haven't had a chance to try the new one yet) And a bonus: The Beach Waterpark (R.I.P.) - The Banzai
  9. ...but you MUST wait, because the park will not be open again until then. If you're unable to wait until Friday, does that mean that you can't go at all?
  10. As for Fast Lane on opening day: I was at the park from opening until 6:00, and I saw literally nobody using FL. At some points I was actively looking for people with FL wristbands or people going into a FL entrance, and still didn't see anybody. I remember the day I bought FL myself last August there was usually multiple FLers on every cycle of each ride, so to see nobody is surprising to say the least.
  11. I didn't mean to imply that it was the guy you were talking about; I was just posting another dumb thing somebody said.
  12. 1. Calculate roughly what percentage about 300 to 400 is of the image's width in pixels. 2. Load the image in Windows Paint (this can actually be done with any image editing program, but I'm using what's already on Windows PCs for simplicity) 3. Under the Image menu, choose "Resize/Skew..." 4. Set both the horizontal and vertical resize settings to roughly the percentage determined in step 1 (it doesn't have to be exact, but make sure you use the same number for both). Leave the skew settings alone and hit OK. 5. Save the image under a new filename and then upload it here. (edited a day later to clarify something I missed in step 4)
  13. Outer Hanks has been changed to Hank's Burrito Shack. Correct. The seafood is no longer available there.
  14. He is sharing it with me. Yeah, but there's room for two more!
  15. Yeah, I began regularly visiting KI in 2010 and never encountered an operating detector until my first Haunt visit last fall. There was no security posted at the gates/former detector area that I saw.
  16. *sigh* Liking a Facebook page will not hasten the decision. The park will take their time and make a decision when they are ready to do so, not rush into one at the insistence of people on Facebook. To do otherwise would be folly.
  17. ^ I didn't think to take one. Once I had my camera in hand, I was focused on rides, and that slipped my mind.
  18. I know it is at Extraordinary Burgers. I'm pretty sure that BD's Mongolian Grill got one too. I highly recommend the Cherry, Vanilla Coke. OK, thanks. I may drive over there soon and check one out.
  19. With the Fast Lane pass, you can pretty much do whatever you want whenever you want. The only non-upcharge ride not on the Fast Lane program that can generate long lines is White Water Canyon, which can be upwards of 30 minutes on a hot weekday afternoon. I would strongly recommend The Beast after dark. Note that the early rider hour at Kings Island requires a Gold or Platinum season pass, as jdawg pointed out (at Cedar Point, resort guests can also partake in early rides). Depending on how many days you're spending at Cedar Point and whether you're going to other Cedar Fair parks, a Platinum Pass for each of you might be cheaper than regular daily admission, especially if you stay at certain Cedar Point Resorts, where a Platinum Pass can get you 10% off the cost of your room if you book by phone. There's plenty of good Cedar Point tips buried in the "Other Amusement Parks" forum; see what you can turn up with the search function. One good thread on CP is here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/23254-cedar-point-tips/ Have fun!
  20. And the final two videos finished faster than I thought they would. Flight of Fear's station: Drop Tower:
  21. Videos are uploading now. Here's the two that are done: Diamondback's transfer track: Diamondback in action: The other two videos are of Flight of Fear's station and Drop Tower. Those are still uploading and will be posted here when they are done.
  22. Both of those sound very interesting. Not sure if anyone stayed until the fireworks last night, but that's exactly what happened. Except that they had 5 young people up there to push the button. They interviewed them and it was broadcast over the loud speakers around the park before they counted down. Was kinda cool. Cool! Where in the park was this done at?
  23. It's still Fort Kinzel, as seen in this photo of mine from yesterday:
