  1. Someone needs to go to Kings Island right now and get a pic from up above. Me thinks there might be some track to see.
  2. A Napoleon Dynamite themed coaster named The Liger - I'm in!
  3. ^^I believe it would be "an", not "a", unless you are saying "donkey". (Just being a...^^that).
  4. I swear everyone on here has the exact opposite opinions of me, haha... I love that about it. It really feels like you're entering a new world, away from everything else. Especially riding the ferryboat to Magic Kingdom; say bye to the rest of the resort and say hello to a different land! Although it is a pain in the arse.
  5. I must have missed something. Did you not write "A coaster is a coaster is a coaster."? I didn't mean it like that. I meant, why do we need to put labels on coasters? I.e. hypercoaster, giga coaster, etc. They're all roller coasters.
  6. Maybe I'm just going through that teenage period of my life where I think everything's too cool for me...lol. Really, though, I do still like MK. Just not as much as I used to...
  7. Walt Disney World is not only Magic Kingdom - in fact, EPCOT is my favorite Disney World park, then Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is great for little ones but it gets kind of boring as you get older and when you visit more often (been at least eight times so I might just be getting bored with it) - so I think it's okay. I love love love Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Haunted Mansion, but Peter Pan's Flight and Winnie the Pooh are getting outdated. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a great coaster and will have some good competition with Seven Dwarfs. My favorite ride is Space Mountain; favorite non coaster is Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh: and don't go on Stitch's Great Escape. Don't. While I re-itterate yoursentiments about Stitch's Escape (bad, bad, bad!) I disagree with you that MK is boring as you get older. Now if you're, say, 13-25 only looking for thrills, then perhaps. However I'm 41 and thoroughly enjoy MK - it's my favorite Disney park. Magic Kingdom was never intended (nor ever will be intended) to be a high-thrill park. It was built to be a family-focused park full of things that can be enjoyed by everyone with an imagination. If you go into MK and walk out thinking it's boring, IMO, you've been blind to the whole concept. Magic Kingdom was built on Walts principle that "“Age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. ... it's dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” Next time, look at it with a grown-up childs eyes - and you'll marvel at how wonderful it is. Magic Kingdom is wonderful. The theme is top notch and it's definitely magical. But rides like Peter Pan's Flight and The Little Mermaid are just boring...I know the concept of Magic Kingdom. They just need more intense rides - I'm not looking for thrills, just a little more thrilling rides. At Islands of Adventure, The Cat in the Hat as a normal dark ride would've been boring, but they added the spinning movements and things like that. If Disney incorporated some more of this stuff into their rides, they would all be great. I still love Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain.

  9. Well, yes....but they're two completely different coasters.
  10. You're comparing a small, cheap, kids' inverted coaster to a heavily themed family coaster at a major theme park. It will be definitely for the family. But it has no relation to Flying Ace Aerial Chase...at all. Also, you'll be lucky for that ride to even open in the next 10 years. They've been working on it for what, 3 years now, and barely anything has been done.
  11. Sure, it's still fun, but when you put the "fastest roller coaster in the world" sticker on it, I expect to be going fast. It can't be going anymore than 80mph after the initial launch.
  12. I thought the Facebook comments for this were funny; people either love or hate Cabin in the Woods. I'm one that loved it. Many people believed it to be a straight up horror that took place in a cabin, but before I started watching it I knew it wasn't going to be like that. This should transfer well to a haunt. Unicorn, merman, that weird zombie thing in the elevator? Perfect!
  13. Formula Rossa launches you at an insane speed yet the trims kill it after a few seconds. It's a total gimmick. The layout looks boring especially because of the trims.
  14. I know you said no offense but maybe they just didn't know. I have never been on Father's Day and I assumed that it wouldn't be crowded because people would be taking dad to dinner or movie. Yet a couple of my friends went this year and said it was probably the most packed day they have ever seen at KI. On par with the final 2-3 HH Saturday nights. But it's the fourth of July. Independence Day. A major holiday. In the middle of the summer.
  15. No offense, but did you expect the 4th of July at an amusement park to be not crowded? It will be insanely crowded.
  16. *GASP* Kinda like a flat ride is just a flat ride, huh? I meant, why do we need to argue about what type of coaster it is? They're all roller coasters. I just think it's silly we've been arguing with each other about what a hypercoaster is. I agree in principle that it would be silly to argue about such a topic. That being said, I don't believe there was ever an argument about the classification of hyper coasters, rather open discussion. People might have different view points, but isn't that something to appreciate about this site? I really do like to hear what you guys and gals have to say about your own Kings Island experience, as well as your ideas for the park. Healthy debate is a catalyst for intriguing conversation. Enough of that BS. We argue here and you know it. Sure there's good discussion but there's been a lot of arguing the past couple of weeks. Sorry for coming off rude but it's getting irritating now. Carry on decoding.

If the logo's good, I don't care. One of the main reasons why I hated the Mysteria haunt was because the logo looked like it was done by a ten year old using Microsoft Paint. The name doesn't matter to me as long as they incorporate it well.
  19. I really don't get why this is such a big deal anyways. It's just a roller coaster. A coaster is a coaster.
  20. A hypercoaster can mean one of two things: Any continuous-circuit roller coaster with a height or drop measuring greater than 200 feet[1][2] Or, more narrowly: A style or model of roller coaster with three features:[3][4][5][6] A height of 200–299 feet Lacks inverting elements A lift hill, not a launch (Wikipedia).
  21. Unless he edited it he didn't say B&M. He is referencing Magnum XL..Even then, the hyper craze hadn't really caught on just yet. Not many parks built hypers until the 2000's. Kings Island was not as late to the party as secondson makes it out to be.So again, ten years. Oh my gosh, I am so fed up with people NOT reading my posts correctly. I'm not saying anything about KI being late to the party. Sheesh! And I said nothing...zero, zilch, nada...NOTHING at all about a Bolliger and Mabillard hyper, DID I ?? Show me where I said B&M!! My gosh, I wish people would STOP thinking I'm saying something that I'm clearly NOT saying! I said STEEL HYPER. Magnum was the first one in 1989 - and all I meant was if we used Hoosierjtf's logic about building certain types of coasters when they are the "in" thing to build, then KI never would have gotten Diamondback. Using his logic, we should have gotten an invert instead. He thinks that because a coaster is somehow "dated", then we shouldn't get one. All I was TRYING to point out was that it took KI 20 years to get a steel hyper. Do I flippin' speak an unknown language?? Seriously, are my posts that hard to understand? Next time you don't understand something I'm saying, just ASK me what I mean. It's really that simple. The one thing that pee's me off the most is when people twist my words. Most people on here are quick to argue and point out problems with someone's post, unfortunately.
  22. See, I always considered it a "double corkscrew". So I guess four of those in a row would be considered a "double corkscrew" in Kings Island language?
  23. I got back from my cruise today; thought I'd post about it here. I'll write a long thing later, just posting this now to remind me.
  24. Reveal of the ride. It gets me so excited and I love the attention Kings Island (or any park) gets. Of course I love riding it but I love the anticipation more. I hate speculation because no one has valid speculations and it's all a confused mess. But once it's officially announced, that's great.
  25. i don't get it...at all. It was just a boring motion simulator. I will admit that I'm just weird, but that's just what I thought of it... Maybe I got a boring story.
