  1. In my opinion the trip from the drop off (the area behind the Kings Island sign) to the entrance really isn't bad at all. I mean, compare it to the amount you'll be walking in the park and it's nothing.
  2. I guess spending $10 at the park doesn't give you any rewards...
  3. I was going to say the same thing but with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It looks so realistic and amazing. You can't even see the rest of the park!
  4. They built a near 200' mountain with an animatronic yeti (doesn't work though), with a switch track along with a 4,000 foot length of track, and the queue for the ride. Disney overdid it. Kings Island doesn't need to spend that much money on it.
  5. On our last trip to KI, I ate at Hank's for the first time. Of all the great things Cedar Fair has done to clean up the park - including the new food options - this is the one thing in the park that was truly puzzling to me. I know it's been mentioned on the forums before, but... a southern coastal themed building serving Mexican food in the German-inspired Oktoberfest area? What happened there? Or the Festhaus, a German themed building in a German themed area with an American pizza place and chinese food, where they play country music.
  6. It's pretty dumb to complain about not having all the drinks; you get them for free! If you don't get to drink Mountain Dew for a day, you can survive! Just drink water!
  7. This is exactly what I was thinking of when I meant wild mouse. It seems like fun!
  8. You guys don't realize we do have a German themed area, it just isn't very well themed!
  9. The back porch of Hank's has been named to the Bier Garden, or something like that. I am very happy to see that. To me, this is kind of a hard thing to think about; Kings Island is not a theme park so adding an area themed to the future, wild west, or something like Disney, would seem out of place. So, I can't really think of anything!
  10. Maybe a wild mouse ride, that would be cool.
  11. ^You're officialy crazy.
  12. This is a great post. I noticed also, Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom; the coaster itself isn't all that great. Only an 80ft drop, 50mph for about 2 seconds, and a TON of brakes. But add in the fact that you're travelling through a mountain, a yeti rips off the tracks, and you are plunged forward into a drop, only to be face to face with the yeti again. I really wish Kings Island would do something involving theme besides Flight of Fear, which in my opinion isn't running to well this year (been on it three times and have yet to see the video running).
  13. Have you tasted Butterbeer? I heard it was really good but was too afraid to try it!
  14. Have you ever been on Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure? Now that's an amazing ride!
  15. What is so great about Indiana Jones? You mention it in every one of your posts than involves Disneyland.
  16. Epcot is very cool, but it's very outdaded and most of their rides are educational; sorry, but I don't go to Disney World to learn.
  17. I made that face because he said it's a really nasty hotel then said "I would say Hampton Inn". Although, there is no dirty Hampton Inn!
  18. Are you joking? I stayed there in May an thought it was the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm not say you wrong but I just disagree with you opinion. No hard feelings. But I would say the Hampten inn. Very nice.
  19. Two different things are amusement parks and theme parks. So... Favorite Amusement Park: Holiday World Favorite Theme Park: Islands of Adventure Water Park: Splashin' Safari
  20. I wouldn't really say it's based off intensity and the different forces being applied on the rider. I wouldn't be so quick to say that. Height requirements are based off, obviously the type of restraint the ride has, and that is determined by the forces that are being applied to the body. Let's look at 3 different types of restraints that are needed depending on what kind of forces are being applied to the body...Base Case (class 4-5 restraint) - This type of restrain provides support to the lower body in all directions, and maintains the riders contact with the seat at all times. AKA, the notorious lap bar. So the height restriction would be somewhere around 48". This is what I don't get, referring to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad again, it is a lap bar, and a lap bar only, and no seatbelt. But Adventure Express has a lap bar and a seatbelt!
  21. This is something I've complained about all the time - the height restrictions at Kings Island. It makes me angry how strict they are, because my little sister loves roller coasters, but is not even 4 feet tall. I feel really bad for her, because one day one of her other friends (a year older) could ride The Racer, but my sis couldn't. Examples are Adventure Express (48"). How is this 48"? It may be a bit rough, but it is just like Big Thunder Mountain at Disney World, but BTMR is 40"! Congo Falls - 46". At Universal Studios, Jurassic Park River Adventure has a very steep drop that is 85', and the restriction is 42"! One that I really don't understand is Zephyr...48"? How!? You sit in chairs and spin around! I don't understand the restrictions one bit. Now to a question; does anyone here know (striked out, for you know why) what decides the height restrictions for rides? The park, the company, the state, etc. I would think it is somewhat the state's decision or some park board, or whatever, I don't know these things, but seeing how most rides at the major theme parks in Florida have very low height restrictions, it's weird how different it is at Kings Island. So, who decides it? Is it based on the restraints, the airtime, the intensity of the ride? Answers, please, because I've been wondering this for awhile! Edit: Oh, and also, might I remind you that Big Thunder has NO seatbelts, just a lap bar that gives you a ton of room! Same goes for Expedition Everest (ONLY A 44" height limit!)
  22. If I were with other people, I'd scare them by setting up camp in The Beast woods; legend has it it's still unchained, roaming around back there....
