  1. I too work Tombstone and what I think makes the difference on Tombstone is if you are scared by "pop-out scares". If you are scared by that then Tombstone is scary as that's about all that is offered. The first bridge is about the only place that you might be scared by something other than a pop-out scare. But with that said, even working the end of the trail...in a good bit of light compared to the rest of the trail... I still get about 60-70% of the people I try to scare to jump or make some other reaction to my scare. Also on most nights I get to see the trail from a guests point of view by following a group through the maze. I often see these guests jump, scream and laugh all through the trail so it must not be too bad. Heck even standing at the exit I see the majority of guests smiling (or running out of the trail) so Tombstone must be doing something right (or they were glad they didn't have to waste any more time on it )

    Chainsaws?

God knows...and so does AZ, that I certainly call him out when I disagree with him...which seems to be about 80% of the time...so it's only fair to stand up for him when I do agree with him. I don't get the whole chainsaw thing either. I'm sorry, but it makes about as much sense as being scared of someone running around with a leaf blower reving it up. Anyone with a smidgen of intelligence knows that it has to be harmless...especially in this lawsuit happy world of ours...how anyone is SCARED I have no idea...I can understand startled, but NOT scared. And by your logic, anyone with a smidgen of intelligence also should not be scared by ANYTHING they encounter at Haunt...or anything else for that matter that's inside the park as they know it all to be harmless. But we all know that not to be true. Haunted attractions play off the fears of each individual. Some people might be afraid of blood and guts, zombies, small places/rooms, chain saws, mutant animals, clowns, children toys, and just the fear of the "unknown" of what is coming up in the maze. Some people are scared by all of these things, others are scared of none, but most people fall some where in the middle. So by using as many different techniques to try and scare someone, Kings Island is trying to make it enjoyable to the largest number of people possible. No one expects you to be scared with everything that you encounter at Haunt. But even though you find something stupid, it doesn't mean that it isn't worth having at Haunt (and from what I saw at Wall of Monsters last Friday, the chain saw was scaring a large number of people and I would consider it a worthy "scare item")
  3. MagnumFan, For most of the night, Tombstone was loading about 10-20% of each train (assuming a full train) for Fright Lane. However, there was a point were the trains had to stop running for about 30 min for something outside of the parks control. At this point, the Fright Lane really started to back and it never seemed to recover until a few hours later. So while it seems that on Tombstone that there were too many Fright Lane guests, it only appeared that way due to the delay. I suggest going back and giving Tombstone another try if you come back to the park (and hopefully there wont be any delays). I would guess that right around midnight would be a good time as that is when the line starts to go down, the scare actors should all still be there and you should have time to still hit up another house if it isn't too busy that night.
  4. As a Haunt Actor working Tombstone, I couldn't agree more with all that has been said. It ruins the attraction for others when all you do is point behind a crate and yell "someone is behind here" to everyone behind you. Out of the 50 people each night who try to scare me, I have been scared exactly 0 times...not to mention that if you know I'm going to jump out at you, you jumping blindly at me will likely end with your foot stomped on or you laying on your back due to accidental collision. But when an idiot makes an announcement to the rest of the trail that I'm behind a crate, I just stand still, wait for the idiot to pass and by that point the rest of the group often thinks the idiot is wrong and then let their guard down, resulting in a greater scare for the rest of the group. Also I have targeted these idiots by waiting until they pass and following them until they turn around to announce the next monster then I'm right behind them and in their face ready to scream at them. One time I did this the guy fell to the ground and everyone behind him clapped and laughed at him on the ground (I work near the end and I assume he did this for the entire trail, ruining most of the attraction for everyone behind him). Needless to say he let out a profanity laced tirade at me which I believe he thought would get his man card back (it didn't, its still on the ground where he fell lol). One last thing, running ahead 15 ft of your group and telling me to scare someone, will not result in that person getting scared as 3 seconds after you start talking to me, that person can now see you talking to me. You would of been better off taking your chances that I might happen to target them in the group.
