    Best Crew

Maybe so. I've almost always experienced it at Beast, especially at night. As many rides as I had on Scooters this year, I can't tell you how many times I seen the operators going around and striking up conversations with people. I was very impressed with that. I'm not trying to knock anyone or anything, but in my 50+ visits this season, Beast crew is the one that stands out. To each their own! :-) - Todd

    Best Crew

I have to second what he said. I think working in Action Zone definitely takes a ton of patience dealing with the large amounts of people crammed into the area. With that said, here goes. Beast Crew -- Without a doubt, the BEST. Of all the days I spent in the Park this season, and trust me it is A LOT, I don't think I encountered a better crew. I saw more guest relating, efficient dispatcing, and overall more enthusiasm out of this years Beast/Scooters crew than any place in the Park. Tomb Raider -- I think the Tomb Raider crew was FAR FAR improved over years past, so awesome job there. You guys really seemed to be hustling to check the restraints and get the ride going quickly! Too bad the ride is the way that it is though... Vortex -- Our biggest peeve this season was the dispatching. I'm sorry, we encountered our most frustrating wait this season at the ride. We had already climbed up the stairs, crossed the track, and were almost down into the station itself. Three trains running, no queues open, 25 minutes. Sorry, but thats a little absurd.....especially considering the Express crew were RARELY stacking ANY of their trains when they had all three running in July. Racer -- Some nice people working here, for sure....but again dispatching left lots to be desired. For the most part, I still think all the crews did a good job and were all very friendly. You honestly don't come across that at too many other parks these days.
  3. I tried it out tonight, thankfully we walked on. My god, what a waste. I have to say, I truly enjoyed seeing the old Phantom Theater animatronics brought back to life though! That was the best part. As for the ride......crappy movie, boring motion, no story. Hands down, the worse thing I've seen in there yet......even worse than that one they had last year with the Indiana Jones theme. Sheesh. Bring back Superstition next year, PLEASE!!! I also did Sleepy Hollow tonight. Lots of detail on this one, unfortunately the haunt itself failed to amount to a whole lot. Still kinda cool. On a side note with FearFest, I gotta give the Park props for going into a lot more detail on the theming. I am impressed and think the overall atmosphere is MUCH better this year! - Todd
  4. I think I have to agree that this doesn't seem to be the smartest possible choice for Six Flags. While its true that they can't just focus 100% of their attention on cleaning up previous mistakes, I don't think sinking such a substantial amount of money for a new ride is the right choice either. It isn't like Great Adventure has been going without new additions, afterall Superman: Ultimate Flight just opened last year. I think it would have been smarter to add a smaller scale coaster and then use some of the additional money to operate the rides they currently have! I distinctly remember attending East Coaster in 2000, the year after Great Adventure declared a "War on Lines" and added the 25 new rides. The park spokeswoman made the comment along these lines: "Well, we added 25 new attractions this past summer and if you would have visited on 25 different occassions you may have gotten to ride all of them!". I think this is what is concerning people. If the other rides in the Park can't operate efficiently, without experiencing a lot of down time, what does that mean for this new one? Especially with a system that STILL has proven to be HIGHLY problematic and not dependable. Lets face it, Dragster is in its second season and still sees A LOT of down time. From what I understand, Storm Runner has had its fair share of problems this season as well. Just seems like this particular ride system still has a lot of kinks to be worked out before it is expanded upon, yet here we go with a ride that will push its limits even MORE. I think PKI has had the right idea the past few years, just adding several smaller family geared attractions. It seems to be working. I think Italian Job will be a great addition and I think that it will operate fairly efficiently. Premier seems to really have hit the nail on the head with Revenge of the Mummy. Even during the soft openings that I got to ride on back in April, it ran without very many hitches at all. From what I understand, the ride still runs very reliably with little down time. - Todd
  5. Yeah, yeah, yeah James! You just HAD to call me and rub it in, didn't you?!?! I was soooo bummed about not being able to go. I definitely could have used a few more Raven rides this season. Oh well. We have Kennywood, Knoebels and Six Flags America coming up in a few weeks! Whoo hoo! - Todd, ready to fly at Knoebels
  6. While not visiting the Park because the clock was removed is silly, I would be incredibly sad to see it go. It seems that with each year, a small part of the true Kings Island vanishes. The Antique Car location was my favorite area of the Park. It was beautiful with all the trees and lakes. Regardless of how many trees they *try* to spare.....its still going to be nothing but concrete. :-( Oh well, guess its time to accept that the amazing Park that Kings Island used to be is now gone. Time to embrace the new Kings Island. I have no problem with the direction that the Park is headed, but its still sad to see the things of your childhood memories disappear in front of your eyes. - Todd, looking forward to the Italian Job and hoping that the clock stays put
  7. James, you were getting some killer snaps. We were all having killer rides, who would have thought #8 had all that potential? :-) Oh well, nothing like our #1 / #2 combo....now if you'd just stop harassing the guests after each ride we'd be doing great! ;-) - Todd
