  1. Sad news, glad none of the injuries seem to be life threatening. This could have been much worse.
  2. It's not for everyone, to each their own. Don't fight it to much though, a relaxed ride, in the right row, can be fun.
  3. It really depends on your situation. The Mrs has a fused vertebrae, but after time, doctor cleared her to ride. EDIT: Always consult with your health care provider. Every situation is unique.
  4. Weird, earlier this season the Mrs and I were told 2 adults could "not" ride in 1 tub. But, then again this ride seems to be still finding what it is. "I'm in Planet Snoopy, but thrill seekers want me to cater to them as well" I offer a solution. As rides go this can't be a major investment. Make Woodstock Gliders 36" and under. Then buy another set for Coney Mall with 36" and over, preferably on Flight Commanders pad.
  5. I hated Vortex for years, this site taught me to ride in row 9. Very good advice, car 5 row 1. A smooth ride, most days. More adventurous, row 13. Car 7 row 1. I'll ride here every time. The downside is if the cars in front of you are empty, it can shuffle.
  6. I didn't realize Vortex had 71 seats But I do love riding 7-1, and 5-1, both have been very smooth this season .
  7. At 51, I enjoy Vortex more than ever. I've learned that "where" is much more important than "how" to ride it. Though how does play a part, don't fight it too much.
  8. I (we) absolutely loved Voyage. Legend on the other hand, ehh. I really don't understand the lack of banking in the turns. I guess that's why different coasters are built, to each their own. On a side note, I was amazed while in queue for Legend how close the ride supports get to the queue supports when a train goes by. It comes very close to being a pinch point should someone manage to get a hand through the fencing.
  9. Flip side, maybe the parks enjoy the "hits" ? Until it becomes liable? I really just don't get it. Safety first, right after exposure?
  10. Exactly why I try and not rank coasters when people ask, "try" . I love Gatekeeper as well. Every coaster is what it is, and every coaster is better than my couch.
  11. You will enjoy the speed, it is a wonderful drop. But, it's not I-305 intense, you'll love it for what it is. It's fun, fast, and long. Knowing you, you'll say I-305 is better, and I'd agree.
  12. Most claim it's boring now. Personally, I'd love it in my back yard.
  13. Umm, The Beast? But something newer, I get it. I know people from all over the world, through a different social platform. It actually amazes me how many know of this iconic coaster. When I talk to people from "where ever" the few things we find in common seem to be, the Indy 500, and The Beast. A few have heard of Banshee, and it's fame is growing, but I assure you, even at it's old age The Beast is known around the globe.
  14. I've said this before, but I will say it again. Until the parks police YouTube, and any other video post sites, and actively request unauthorized videos be removed, this will be on ongoing problem. In no way does this absolve their lack of enforcement within the park, but if you remove the forum, you remove the motivation.
  15. At Coasterstock, inline for The Bat. An obvious CP fan on his first trip to KI. " Oh, it's gonna be just like Iron Dragon." I really should've waited at exit, some things are not like others.
  16. Try going on Shooting Star, the one at Indiana Beach in particular. Get a bench to yourself, and enjoy !!
  17. The biggest surprise is Screamscape might have something right, without editing later. Though I'm kinda disapointed they didn't announce the exact date. Wich of course will be June 8th, or 9th, or 10th, or what ever day they edit it to be.
  18. Responses are coming quick so I won't edit, in case this is a double post. Something as simple as the gates wont open, if in maintenance mode.
  19. Just remember kids, next time you're in line, and a ride goes down, NO complaints about empty trains running for a full cycle, or more. And yes, I have heard people in line complain about all trains cycling before they start reloading. These are huge, complex machines. I don't care to speculate on where the problem started, that is for people much wiser than I. If it does come to light that it was left in a maintenance mode, I hope checks are put in to place to prevent loading while in said mode.
