  1. I don't know about this year, but last year I thought that PKI had surpassed CP on employee friendliness. I used to think that CP was tops and now it seems that they are slipping a little. Still haven't made it this year, but will be going soon.
  2. I have to agree with you on this one. CF is going to have to do something other than a water park to attract the crowds. If they don't receive anything else until they do better, we may be waiting a very long time. Anyone know that the GL numbers have been so far? If so, any improvement from last year? Kenban, sorry to hear you had a lousy time. I went last year and had a great time. I was able to ride everything a few times and still managed to leave early. I only wish that I had taken swim trunks to try out the new water park. I loved X Flight, Headspin, Thunderhawk, Dominator, Villain, Raging Wolf Bobs, Texas Twister, Time Warp. I did not care for the Big Dipper. That one made my back hurt. Maybe there is a better seat to ride than the very back? Now that Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall is gone, maybe CF will install a better Drop Tower type of ride. I also think that they need to do something with the old hurricane hannah section. A nice collection of flats could go in there. I do think that there should be some kind of show, other than the lumberjacks, that they could do with that stadium. It's way too nice to just use ocassionally.
  3. So, who won the bet in the other thread about the time that the deal would close? Next question for me is, will PKICentral be renamed? And, if so, when? After the season ends?
  4. I think that it flips and has more inversions than X. Guiness has recognized it as having the most inversions, but they are counting the seat flips as well. I don't think that the seats flipping should be counted as I don't see them as true inversions. To me, an inversion is when the track itself inverts with the riders and not just the seat.
  5. I kinda remember that Native American. The auction said it was on the safari ride, but I was thinking more like the train ride. Anyone know for sure?
  6. ^I figured it had been a long time. The novelty has worn off and there isn't really anything new that you can do with that style.
  7. Their is not that much room for Corkscrew in the Days of Tunder area unless they use whats left of King Cobras land. I think Klockster was being sarcastic. He was referring to an earlier thread that CP would send Corkscrew to KI. Guess we'll all have to start using the winking smilie since no one seems to be able to detect sarcasm.
  8. For those interested...I got the link from Screamscape, believe it or not, and it has a promo video for Eejanaika. Looks like it is scheduled to open July 19th, 2006. Here's to hoping that S&S has worked out the bugs since X. eejanaika 4D coaster Just click on the special movie button to view the promo vid. If you have a pop-up blocker, you will need to temporarily disable it. Personally, I think this coaster looks really cool. If this becomes a reliable design for them, I wouldn't mind seeing one at PKI or CP.
  9. There really wasn't any point in adding stand up to the list. There are kinda a thing of the past. Not to say there aren't any out there, but when was the last one installed? I voted inverted, but I like the floorless experience as well. Only been on one, Dominator at Geauga Lake. It really moves fast and has a killer ending with the interlocking corkscrews and helice.
  10. I have heard that Mission Space was toned down after the 2nd death. KIemployeeforlife, people get confused when it comes to weight. Just because someone may be overweight does NOT mean that they are NOT healthy. Just as someone who works out all the time does NOT mean that they are healthy. These are two totally different things.
  11. The gauge of the Intamin pre-fabricated track would have to be the same as SOB. Not sure if it is or isn't.
  12. ^You've only been on Chang? I figured that you had been to Cedar Point. You must get there as there are two great B&M's there. The best beemer there is definitely Raptor. If I remember correctly, it was the first B&M with a cobra roll, which is an amazing inversion. The other B&M being Mantis, their stand-up coaster. I like Mantis and it has a huge first loop that goes into a diving loop which is phenomenal. It is pretty smooth as well. I will always love King Kobra since it was the first stand-up I ever rode. But, Mantis just does so much more.
  13. Why do you think that? KI makes enough money on its' own to pay for their new attractions. Now, of course next year, CF will honor whatever installation that they were planning. After that, it's CF's decision and they know that KI may not be the flagship park, but it has to be a close 2nd.
  14. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/shows/index.cfm Thanks, coastersnsich. It was the IAAPA awards and not the Amusement Today awards. Good find.
  15. They tell people where to sit on coasters so that they can get as many riders on in one day as humanly possible. That is why CP wins awards for capacity. What park has CP copied? Combat, I was talking about the Amusement Today Awards.
  16. ^Some people think that Dan Snyder mentioned the possible selling off of six more parks to cause the stock to plummet so he could buy up more shares. He did own 11% and now owns 12%. I have no idea if there is any truth in this, but, it's something to think about.
  17. Really, the entertainment isn't good at Cedar Point? Then, how do they win awards for their shows every year?
  18. Come to think of it, I would think that many of their coasters would be hard to relocate as many are adapted to the Mountain landscape.
  19. ^Heck, I'd even buy Cedar Point for $50.00. Seriously, it is well worth the gate price. You can find discounts at Meier Dairy stores, if I remember correctly. Either that, or call Cedar Point and ask for their getaway guide as it has discounts too. Downside hill of Dragster is cool with the twist, but, it's not until near the bottom that you reach 120mph again.
  20. ^You are correct, Kenban. It is a profitable park for Six Flags and fits their new image. I agree wholeheartedly with Chef.
  21. Rugrats is a great kids coaster. It's also a great fit over there in Nick world.
  22. I don't forsee anyone buying SFMM and maintaining it the way it is. Too much money to be made in the real estate. Maybe they could relocate some of their coasters to other parks, although that would be expensive too.
  23. I think if anything, CP could learn a lesson on how a kids' area is supposed to be like. I think Kiddy Kingdom is a horrid example of a kids' area. You have about 5-6 car flat rides that go in a circle. They just have different cars. How atrocious.
  24. Got a pic of little chef in the Scooby outfit? I love to see little ones dressed up in little themed outfits. Did baby chef enjoy the meet and greet?
