  1. Dude, I'm not up PKI's butt. I actually prefer Cedar Point over PKI, at least for now. And, you're talking about reliability before it is even built. And, then you add that the Raptor doesn't break down. When you make comments like these, you have to expect someone to call you out on it.
  2. Lucky you! Were you responding to my back surgery post? That was in another thread. I got confused. Anyway, I am pretty good now except for the fact that I'll have to live with some minor back discomfort for the rest of my life. Sometimes, I really get down in my back; especially when it is raining, or gets cold, or a shift in the weather from one extreme to the other. There are times when I have to leave work and just lay down for the rest of the day. But, with the good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, I am back riding coasters and cherishing every moment because one day, it might come to the point when I can't ride any more. So, I am starting a new quest. To try and visit as many amusement parks as I can as long as I have the money and good health to do so. So far, I've only been to PKI, CP, and Camden Park (local). Next summer, I hope to go to Geauga Lake, Hersheypark, and maybe PKD. PKD is really the one I am wanting to go to because they have a diverse collection of coasters that I've never tried. Sorry, but my whole post was
  3. Snapper, you're an idiot. "Its was a dumb decision to instal IJST bc its not going to be reliable. There much better off getting a small intense B&M thats small becasue whens the last time you went to Cedar Point and Raptor was down due to mechanical problems????" Last year Raptor had problems. Every coaster has down time every year. Maybe not extended down time, but down time none the less. The only part of IJ:ST that may become unreliable would be the effects, not the coaster itself. Premier coasters are highly reliable.
  4. Snapper officially has my vote to be added to Aaron's Idiot List.
  5. My favorite memory is of a trip I took with my brother and two uncles this year...it was like old times. Back in the day, before Paramount, we used to take a trip every summer together to KI. Going with my uncles was always an adventure. After about five or six years, I underwent back surgery for scoliosis (sp?) and was not allowed to ride coasters for about five or six years . Finally, one day I called the doctor who performed my surgery and asked if it was ok to ride again. The only thing he could tell me was, "If you ride and it hurts, don't ever do it again. If it doesn't hurt, I guess you're ok." Thank God that I took a spin on The Beast and nothing hurt. I don't know what I would have done without coasters...I guess I would have had to get another hobby.
  6. I respect that Scooby. I agree that originally, Halloween was an evil type of holiday, but you have to admit that it is a shadow of its' former self. Halloween is not even really celebrated for the same reasons as it used to be. Kind of like Christmas; it's mostly a commercial racquet except for those who are religious.
  7. "I think they bought it to keep other parks from getting it and if it don't make them money they will close it." Now that is really stupid. You don't buy a park to keep someone else from acquiring it. They are in the business to make money, not lose money. If they didn't think they could turn it around, they would not have purchased it in the first place.
  8. "It's not pki that makes these decisions, it's the paramount company itself. Trust me, if pki was to make the decision to rip out the scooters, they most likely wouldnt- because of all of the dedicated fans of the ride. They did what they had to do, because the head honcho somewhere in Viacom wanted the scooters someplace else." I highly doubt anyone at the Paramount company knows enough to decide what ride will be installed or removed. That's why they have a team of execs at PKI...to make those decisions. The only thing the Paramount company would do itself is decide how much will be spent in capital investments at all of their parks.
  9. Trust me, I'm not knocking IJ:ST. I just get sick of hearing all these people saying that there's no way that PKI will ever build a large coaster. I want to know how exaclty they know this since they do not work at PKI in ride development/planning? Or, are not even privy to that kind of information. I believe I heard it best over at Coasterbuzz...Those that know, don't talk, those who talk, don't know.
  10. That's fine if you feel that Halloween is not a holiday. But, last time I checked my caledar, it is a nationally recognized holiday. I guess you don't think presidnt's day or Martin Luther King Day is a holiday either? I am just wondering why you think Halloween is not a holiday.
  11. I see his logic though. If KI restarted the golden age of coasters, then by the logic presented on this board, everyone whom built a coaster after that (especially racing) is copying.
  12. All I want is for people to come up with a good, sensible reason why PKI would not install a large coaster. Think they're not into that? Wrong. The Beast - opened as the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden coaster in the world Vortex - opened as the tallest, fastest, and most inversions for a coaster. Son of Beast - Still the tallest, fastest, and only looping coaster in the world.
  13. I agree with tggr, most people on here are being ridiculous. All parks copy eachother in one way or another. Let me guess, every park with a ferris wheel is copying eachother?
  14. Halloween is indeed a holiday. What have you people been smokin'? What makes you believe that Halloween is not a holiday? And, just because you don't get holiday pay does not mean it's not a holiday. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything. BTW, it was originally called All Hallow's Eve.
  15. They acutally decided to start a bonfire out of the remains of the Scooters. I would like to see any form of B&M in the park.
  16. Klockster said, "I'll let you know what my day record is next year when I ride SOB for 14 hours straight." And I'll be waiting for you with an on site MRI that you will need afterwards. Just joking. I really do like SOB, but I can't take too many laps on it.
  17. Maybe the problem is, if they put IJ in a new place, you might have to create an entire new area adding up to a lot more money to place one ride. Yes, it is nice to have all of that land, but you would have to install several other things for that area. ie, bathrooms, food stalls, walk areas, and other rides so that it doesn't stand alone.
  18. Legend Rider, you asked if that was the Addams Family ride and that is what I was trying to explain to you. I would rather see something more done with it than the tiques, but that might prove to be cool too.
  19. Legend Rider, that is not what has been rumored about the antiques. The original rumor was that the tiques would make a return as the Nickelodeon Toonpike. Now, many seem to think it will turn in to the Spongebob car wash. The Addams Family ride was a concept in a Paramount survey. It was a vertical drop coaster that went through the Addams Family graveyard.
  20. Well, here comes the Save the Scrambler campaign. Who's going to make up the t-shirts?

Good question about the noise. I like the look of Coney Mall the way it is, excpet some sprucing up and maybe an additional ride somewhere in there.
  22. Wow, site work. How riveting!?
  23. No, it just means it's not very popular and worth removing. Cry me a river. I'm sick of the whining about the Eagles. Life moves on, so should you.
  24. "And on the whole Delirium copy at Cedar Point, I think its a cheap shot. Thats all Im gonna say about that." Cheap shot? Whatever. Did you think that Huss was only going to make rides for PKI? I guess you thought Intamin would never build a bigger ride than Dragster for another park? I'm sure that Huss would also jump at the chance to build another giant top spin or Frisbee at any other park. There in the business to make money. So, I guess everyone with a Bayern Curve or Rotor or Scarmbler or Monster type of rides are all copying each other.
  25. That's a pretty good guess SOB TOM. Makes sense to me.
