  1. But, the thing is, SOB does not need to run a third train. The line is not that long and it wouldn't really increase capacity at all.
  2. I like Coke over Pepsi, but I prefer other Pepsi products to Coke, if that makes any sense.
  3. Why is waiting an hour or an hour and a half bad? If all that SOB gets is a 1-1/12 hour wait, you really can't do much better than that. And, they will not re-build yet another part of SOB just to put a block brake in for a third train, whomever suggested that idea. Besides that, I believe Coach Bombay when he says that there are no new trains on any wood coaster at KI being tested.
  4. You can't trust wikipedia or screamscape. From what I have heard, SFKK is profitable.
  5. I think Face/Off has valleyed before. I'm sure someone knows for sure on here.
  6. From what I understand, their plan will have them paid off in 2012. Something Jeff Putz over at Coasterbuzz has been saying. Take it for what it's worth.
  7. I can remember when the rotary phones were switching over. I can remember when we bought a touch tone phone. The line was still rotary, but the phone was touch tone. So, you could quickly dial a number, but you had to still listen to the clicking of the rotary dialing. And, I voted for texting. I'll take all texts please, if this comes to be.
  8. I will be getting there. Very soon. I think I'll go this Saturday night since I get paid this week. My Dad broke his arm at the roller rink there. Somehow, he fell and broke it. I used to go skating there all the time. Split time between there and Rollerama. I had heard that Camden's Haunted House was one of the only haunted attractions left that still use gravity to traverse the course. And, that it is nearly considered a coaster since it has a chain lift and all. Almost reminds you of a wild mouse coaster. It has hairpin turns and a good drop.
  9. I can't get over how good the Paratrooper and former "Rainbow" look since the paint jobs. And, the Haunted House too! When I was in grade school at Chesapeake, we took a yearly trip to CP at the end of the school year. Of course, those days you paid $5.50-$6.00 to get in. You also had the option of just paying $.50 to get in and buy tickets to ride. Great memories!
  10. So much for the Kite Flyers. Oh well, there's always next season. Tilt A Whirl too? Man, that is a great tilt a whirl. Kinda disappointing, but what can you do? Do they still make the best Pronto Pups? Always loved them thangs. I'll be able to ride Skydivers since my wife and I are going. Oh, I forgot to mention that I got married recently. I have not had a day off work since the day after my wedding. And, when I finally get a weekend off again, I'll be going to KI for HH. But, that will be after working 25 straight days. I'll have to stop by the cafeteria and get a bat cookie.
  11. ^Wow! That was uncalled for. I really like the name Voodoo. Maybe CF is finally going to start thinking of original names again instead of using the same ones in different parks.
  12. Thanks for posting that Interpreter. Brings much needed attention to my little hometown park. I am going to try and go to their event even though it's geared for the little ones. Mainly, I want to ride Big Dipper, the Kite Flyers, the Haunted House, and the Flyers(don't know the name). I drive by there all the time and I am really impressed with all of the new paint jobs and new attractions that have been added. I want to try that new ride that looks like a ferris wheel with spinning cars.

The first drop is Mean Streaked. They both have brakes. Maybe in different spots, but both have brakes on the first drop.
  14. ^Actually, that is a good question. Would EV still be around had it not been smurfed?
  15. ^I think that's a pretty safe bet. Well, let's see. They have three major coasters opening in one year. Didn't someone already try that once before?
  16. I guess Cedar Point is guilty too seeing how Maverick had a heartline roll and everything...
  17. Actually, I believe there is grandfathering...unless it was done away with in the last 6-7 years. Case in point. The Junior College I attended never had elevator acess for many years, even after the ADA. The building is historical. It was only in the last five years that they made minor changes to accomodate. I know the head of the school and it was not done because of the ADA...it was done because the school wanted this change...there was no being forced by the government.
  18. I kinda think that the decision had pretty much been made before the end of the season. However, the final vote by the board to make it official was after the season. Just my opinion.
  19. It's not that Intamin is a bad manufacturer...they are just using new technology that hasn't been perfected. Then again, LIM technology hasn't exaclty been perfected either. It just happens to be more reliable, at least for now.
  20. New for 2008: Grain of Salt:The Ride!
  21. Nick will not be replaced with Peanuts characters. If anything, Cedar Point is the park that may end up with Nick Universe and replacing Snoopy and the gang.
  22. ^I thought that they told the GP with season passes that HH would be an upcharge next year. Could be wrong. I think it should be an extra upcharge anyways. The parks are spending all of this extra money to do the Halloween thing and then no extra money comes in(outside of the sector that buys tickets)? Doesn't sound like a good business decision to me.
  23. ^Nah, you're thinking of Millennium Force. Anyway, good to hear that they finally reached 1 million riders. It only took how many seasons?
  24. Did you get that term "bezerk mode" from RCT? It's funny if you did. I would give it a try. From what I understand, TR:TR will never be able to do that many flips. Being a giant top spin and all.
  25. It's funny how many people are up in arms over the closing of GL. I am saddened by the closing too. However, where were all of these people when GL needed attendance and how come no one apparently was using the word of mouth method to spread the news about how they liked GL? If you really wanted it to stay open, you really had to go to said park or at least talk it up to friends. It seems that this was not happening.
