  1. You guys are basing GL being closed over two coasters moved. Everyone knows that SF expanded way too much for the space that they have. I don't think GL will be going anywhere for a few seasons more at least. It's going to take at least five years to start bringing back old customers that were ticked off. If it were to close, who knows where any of their rides end up. There's many parks in the CF chain. Would I like to see KI get Dominator? You bet...
  2. Honestly it wouldnt suprise me if Cedar Fair is purposly tearing down rides and not adding anything new so the park WILL fail. I mean the whole reason they bought it anyway was so Six Flags couldnt compete with Cedar Point. No, the reason that Cedar Fair bought Geauga Lake was to make money. GL was not competing all that well with Cedar Point.
  3. Would the trains for the Hurricane even fit on SOB's track? Thought SOB was a wider gauge.
  4. From what I understand, trains are usually around a million a pop, so I doubt any more than one kind will be purhcased or used. About buying used trains, not likely either since SOB is not standard track gauge. They would have to be new.
  5. I'm inerested to see which trains they go with as well. I like the idea of a double tunnel.
  6. ^Sounds like a sure bet to me! I can't wait to see what's in store for Firehawk.
  7. Couldn't agree more, Interpreter. Haven't been around lately, but, anyone know of a new paint schemem or will it stay the same?
  8. My second favorite element on Firehawk is the double in-line twist. The loop being the first. Awesome coaster...can't wait to ride it a KI.
  9. Now the question is, what will go in its' place?
  10. I think the price cut is interesting. Seems that Cedar Point did the same thing last year expecting a boost in attendance, and it failed. Of course, it could be that they are changing prices to get in line with the other parks. Just a guess.
  11. ^Good find. I guess we'll all know come opening day. It was also stated at Coasterbuzz, and I think it makes a lot of sense, that the change will probably be something fairly inexpensive as CF is trying to cut costs across the chain.
  12. I agree. I was commenting on another person's suggestion of another helix.
  13. The idea behind removing the loop is for lighter trains. The lighter trains would not have enough momentum to make it through the loop, therefore, the loop goes. The lighter trains will in turn cause less wear and tear on the track. I don't like the idea of another helix either. Two is enough. I'd rather see a tunnel, airtime hill, or a double down.
  14. I'm assuming it's a least favorite coaster only from Kings Island? The title doesn't say so. Anyhoo, least favorite is...Italian Job:Stunt Crap. On the bathrooms, I don't like not having dividers as there seem to be too many peter watchers.
  15. ^You're going to Hades for that one, Reclaimer! Railrider, you just may be right about that.
  16. SFOG is one of the parks that I am wanting to visit. Hopefully I'll make it this year. I want to check out the Tony Hawk tour that will be going through there.
  17. Actually, it is the swaying that keeps the twists from cracking under stress. If the twisted towers were completely stiff, they would be more likely to break. Having the sway allows some give in the structure.
  18. Glad to have you here. It's cool that you got season passes for Christmas...what a great present! My girlfriend and I purhcased Max Pass season passes recently and now I've got an excuse to go to other CF parks next year. Of course, the main reason for getting the Max Pass was for the big PKIC trip next year. You may want to find out more info about that as you may be interested in joining us.
  19. If they weren't going to be able to insure the ride, they wouldn't be trying to fix it. It would have just been torn down.
  20. Monty Jasper is working on this? Awesome! He has done many projects at CP including Dragster, Millennium Force, and Wicked Twister. Teenageninja, of course they are going to put something there, otherwise, it won't make a complete circuit. In all seriousness, I'd like to see an airtime hill, but, I wouldn't be surprised to see just a pretty straight section that lines up with the next helix. If that's the case, I hope they make a tunnel in that spot.
  21. Oh, I agree Shaggy. It will go down in coaster history. I also expect, down the road sometime, that rumors will start flying around in similar fashion to the reasons of The Bat's demise. Someone will say that a rider died on Son of Beast or it got stuck in the loop. I can only imagine what will be said. And, are you saying that new trains will not make a difference in the quality of the ride? If so, then why change them at all?
  22. Great suggestion, Boddah! I have a feeling that if any company was going to make new trains for sonny, the only way they would do it is to remove the loop, otherwise, it may have driven up the cost of new trains. I hope they stick with the color theme for the trains. I always liked the red/yellow combination. I am also personally hoping for an airtime hill in its' place or a good long tunnel. Coastercrazy, I hope that was sarcasm. Otherwise, that's the dumbest idea I have read in a long time. The Beast doesn't need new trains. Nor does neither one need to be torn down. Ok, here it goes, taer it down 1111!!!!
  23. Now, I am really convinced that Six Flags is heading in the right direction. Seems to me that most of these new shows/attractions are geared toward the young ones.
  24. Well, that answers my question in the other thread. Like I said there, what will go in its' place?
