  1. Possible, but in most cases, not likely. It usually goes the other way.
  2. Point was, the ppl/hr statistic is over-exaggerated on most parks' web sites. FOF is a perfect example. Delirium is most likely too. 1st Point: Delirium has low capacity 2nd Point: Parks' web sites generally over-state 3rd Point: If you don't believe point 2, then check out FOF's ppl/hr
  3. That's maXair, we are talking about Delirium. I know it's the same ride, but different crew. Look at the ppl/hr for Flight of Fear and then tell me that KI accomplishes that.
  4. I haven't seen this posted around here lately, but there are some new pics of the Mystery Mine Ride being installed at Dollywood. From the web site. Mystery Mine Ride Looks like construction is coming along nicely.
  5. Yes, that is correct. Magic Mountain is one of the ones that are possibly on the chopping block.
  6. Thank you. and yes the 600 estimate is called the "wishful letdown" I like to call it. a "wishful letdown" is as such, you estimate something kinda low... like an hourly capacity or a long line at a ride, if you say 1 hour wait, and its only 40 min, then you have had people expecting an hour wait, but they really got less, they were hopeful for that letdown, but got excited about the shorter. you can expect that capacity, but in fact it can become larger. That last part didnt come out the same. maXair v. Delirium... Hmm, which Giant Hussie Wins? totally maXair! That's not true at all. Most park web site over-estimate their riders per hour. So, if anything, it would be less than 600.
  7. You're saying that it has a higher capacity than what is projected? That usually is not the case. It is usually over-stated if anything. So, if it is projected at 600, then 450 is more like it. I thought it was kinda strange though, becuase on Huss' web site, it says 1,000 per hour and PKI's says 600.
  8. Just curious, but, when is 600ppl per hour considered high capacity?
  9. You may be on to something. I posted this news over at Coasterbuzz and someone stated that a little birdie told him that GCI was doing work on SOB.
  10. Yes! This is great news! Thanks Maureen!
  11. No more $20 million coasters? You think? Wow, this is a revelation that every enthusiast has been saying for years now. About time management caught up with the rest of the world.
  12. Dick Kinzel won't be happy that this one is out of the bag.
  13. Yes, it's true that there are not many Vekoma flyers around. However, I have been on X-Flight many times and it is a good, thrilling ride. Not uncomfortable or bumpy. That's why I want it to come to KI.
  14. In line forever waiting on Delirium. Tomb Raider has awful capacity. About as good as Drop Zone.
  15. Really? Is that why it seems that the line never moves? I see you love Delirium, but its' capacity is not that great. I also left out TR:TR as low capacity.
  16. Where to begin. Oh yeah, first off, Top Gun is one of the better suspended coasters out there. I understand that only Big Bad Wolf at BGE is better. It is a nice coaster with a little height to scare the young ones but not so high that it intimidates them. The Racers also serve pretty much the same purpose. Not real high and fast, yet fun and not intimidating. Can you imagine if your first coaster was Little Bill's and then you went straight to The Beast after that? There has to be medium sized coasters in the park. IJ:ST is another one of those.
  17. The only reason they point to MIA is people in that area are angry at CF for not building any new coaster in years. I think it's more wishful thinking on their part than any proof that it will go to MIA. You can't argue capacity either. Look at Delirium, Face/Off, and Drop Zone...capacity nightmares. I really don't think it's an issue.
  18. Yeah, I've only had two laps on FOF where the brake was on. It ruined the whole last half of the ride.
  19. Just want to point out that only 5 years ago in 2001 Geauga Lake had an annual attendance of 2.7 million. Considering the park now draws 700k and neither Cedar Point or Kings Island picked up those extra 2 million visits I don't think removing rides from GL will impact CP or KI unless the rides end up at one of them. Actually, Cedar Fair found out that their attendance statistics were severly inflated. It was more like 1.6 million, not 2.7. It's being discussed at Coasterbuzz. If Jeff Putz says this, then it's probably true.
  20. Surf City Splashouse should be cool. I was at the one like it at GL and it looks like a lot of fun for the kiddies. I know one kid who was having a great time soakin me with a water gun.
  21. There goes one of my main reasons to visit GL, other than Dominator.
  22. The brakes in the shed do not stop The Beast any more than in the past. Instead of a gradual slow down, it now just catches it right at the end.
  23. Reckling? You mean heckling? We harp a little on this because it's not like you're uneducated and can't spell correctly or use the right word. It is laziness that people choose to incorrectly spell or use the right word.
  24. There is not one thing in this paragraph that convinces me we are 100% or any kind of % that we are getting X Flight. Someone who doesn't know coasters, where they are located or the simple fact it is a coaster doesn't convince me that she knows any more than ride ops. I hate to use this old phrase that has been beaten to death around here, but, Those who know, don't tell. Those who tell, don't know.
  25. That makes sense railrider, that it was a flaw in construciton, not in the design itself.
