Only the TGI Friday's store at Hotel Breakers remains at Cedar Point. The store at Castaway Bay is now a Quaker Steak & Lube. Cedar Fair does own the DQ on Cedar Point Drive. Is the Friday's near Knott's really owned by Cedar Fair? And, yep. In-park spending is at and within the gates. Out-of-park spending would then be lodging and off-site restaurants.

It's really a judgment call that park operations makes by constantly monitoring radar. If there is a storm that is producing or is likely to produce lightning in the area, they'll shut down pretty much everything. If it's just a little rain and expected to stay that way, a lot can stay open. If it's pouring rain or they expect it to, then they might start shutting down more rides. One thing they don't want to do is rush to reopen a ride just to have another storm roll in that shuts it back down. They also need a little time to run empty test trains after downtime. They might also take a train off of the coasters on rainy days rather than shutting down completely. This gives trains a little more room to stop due to wet brakes. Rain is a great crowd-deterrent (most of the time). So long as it's not raining all day, a rainy forecast can keep lines short, making for a FUN day.

Failure to comply with park employee (ride operator) instructions is a misdemeanor in the state of Ohio. Technically, raising your arms on a roller coaster is a criminal offense so long as it is posted and/or mentioned by the spieler. Raising your arms involves putting them (further) outside of the car (than they would otherwise sit). For obvious reasons, they don't enforce that one..

You're not seeing any Kings Island advertising in Metro Detroit because we're not a target market for them. The 2-park combo ticket with MiA and CP does not need to be used back-to-back; it's meant to get you to make trips to both parks. KI is a tougher sell up here to residents who already find the ~2-3hr drives to CP and MiA to be a bit much for a day/weekend trip. Per Google Maps, here's how far I am from the various parks in southwest Oakland County.. Cedar Point | 2:09 | 127 mi Michigan's Adventure | 2:31 | 178 mi Kings Island | 3:56 | 259 mi Notes: CP is, in essence, half as long a drive as KI. And my brother in southeast Wayne County.. Cedar Point | 1:44 | 99.2 mi Michigan's Adventure | 3:01 | 212 mi Kings Island | 3:31 | 232 mi KI isn't much farther than MiA to him but he's really at the south end of the Metro Detroit area. Bottom line? They're advertising the two closest parks. (What everyone else said.) -
Red herrings. Carowinds has already shown they understand how they work and how to implement them. If you get your mind set that they're going one way before an official announcement, you'll spend a Centuri-on remembering how wrong you were. That said, it would be very interesting and a different tactic to file permits they never intend to use in order to teasingly mislead fans. It's definitely not impossible. Carowinds is likely to see elevated investment for some time if the plan is truly to turn it into a Cedar Point of the South. That is, of course, if they mean by size of park, ride line-up, capacity, attendance, and the like. Part of the "DNA" of Cedar Point is roller coasters; the park is well-known for building record-breaking rides. That is something that they really started at Carowinds with Intimidator and Fury 325. It's not impossible for them to quickly follow it up with another coaster. Still, they likely won't want to rush the improvements that much. SIX taught the industry many valuable lessons pre-bankruptcy.

Sadly, that's probably the case. I can see not enforcing the rider responsibility law on guests with arms up, because that's not nearly as likely to cause injury. That and really bad PR. However, loose articles in hand should definitely be taken seriously. We just got back from Carowinds where I saw quite a few guests with phones, GoPro, and even glasses in hand. Even on Fury 325; an op told her she could even leave them on, so long as she didn't turn her head..? Carowinds' policy is apparently to close the loading gates on guests who are on the station floor waiting from passengers to disembark before boarding. Gates controlled by individual industrial-grade pneumatic cylinders, so they pack quite a punch. Guest Services will definitely be hearing about that. I was pleasently shocked at how many trash cans they had out in the parking lot. But it was still very disappointing to see how much trash was just thrown on the outside of cars. I know Kings Island owns a street sweeper but that doesn't make it acceptable. It doesn't matter how many trash cans a park has.. There will always be guests who can't be bothered to throw it away. Just look at the parking lot at the end of the night on any public operating day; it'll be littered with garbage. Grr! I found a credit card on the walkway from the sidewalk during CoasterStock.. Just kinda chilling (warming) there on the concrete. Ran that straight to guest services.

Okay, so maybe enthusiast events aren't exactly abound with profits.. I'm over four hours away. Sorry if I like to maximize my ride count in the few times I can make it down.

If you're talking about Kings Island.. If you have your pass, there are ways to store the barcode on a smartphone and present it at the turnstiles. If not, but you believe you will be able to find it after your next visit, you may visit the Season Pass Center to receive a "Forgot My Pass" slip. They do this up to 3 times, supposedly, before making you buy a new pass. Else, if you don't think you'll ever find it, you'll have to pay $15 for a replacement card. If you do believe that it is gone (as in may have fallen into the wrong hands), I would call the park.. as Terpy said. If someone other than you were to attempt to utilize your pass to gain entry into the park, they reserve the right to immediately revoke that pass without refund. If you're talking about Ghost Town in the Sky, surely this is the wrong place to ask. If, if, if.... -

Hmm, was the ride teething on her leg? I mean no jokes, I simply do not understand how a ride that not only was designed and tested virtually, but tested in the real-world, then run without accident for multiple years could possibly have "teething problems". That's like saying that you should expect your car to start developing issues after you've had it a couple years. Uh, no.. -
For reference, a Top Thrill Dragster train weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6 tons. It's on a sign in the queue but I can't seem to locate a good picture of it. That's a 5-car train. Average weight would be 1+ tons each. For comparison, a 2015 Kia Rio weighs 1.2 tons. Would you park a Kia Rio in your house? Except those who have ridden a particular ride "hundreds of times before" would surely not enjoy waiting 30-60+ minutes each time for the same ride. Surely those guests would wish to find opportunities to enjoy shorter wait times and perhaps socialization, through such means as ERT events and visiting on light days. Or do you mean, as Terpy so pointedly stated, that you despise repeat guests (and thus customers)? If so, I'm not sure what you're doing on here. I'm sorry but if someone can't wait 30 minutes in line for a ride then maybe they shouldn't go to the park. 30 minutes isn't a bad wait.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Well, that's an awfully insensitive thing to say. To some people, time is more valuable than money. To others, disabilities (mental or physical) prevent them from waiting in line for very long. Think someone with autism. Even ignoring all that and looking only at enthusiasts, that's an awful thing to say. Why turn away enthusiasts who are paying extra money for the privilege of ERT (unless they become an unruly bunch)? The more money the park gets, the more it has to spend on the next ride. But hey, everyone should just stand around waiting in line for their entire life. Just go from one line to another. That sounds like a blast.

Without knowing the intricacies of the British legal system, it sounds to me more like a promise to settle, providing fair and just compensation. Likely to *avoid* a lawsuit. Jail time is likely a separate matter once HSE and any other investigations have completed. -
Why would you pay $200 for that? Why did anyone pay $100 in the first place? Why do people pay a lot of money to collect coins, much more than their face (or scrap metal) value? You're not just paying for the raw material. You're paying for something unique, something that has character, something that has sentimental value. Things like that.

So, this happened. Matt Ouimet has previously been quoted as saying the Rougarou transformation could start a trend throughout the company. If successful, it would seem that California's Great America will see the next ride transformation in a Cedar Fair park. Vortex at CGA is another B&M stand-up coaster. That's not really Intamin's fault. New Jersey's laws and regulations prevent that from happening. I wouldn't be so sure. Perhaps they could have (should have?) worked closer with the regulators to determine if the ride would be operable as designed.

Definitely. Nothing in life is ever free. There's a cost somewhere. With Google services, advertisements are the service. In other words, time in front of your eyes. Companies like Cedar Fair pay Google to put an ad in front of your eyes. Google then uses that money to provide those "free" services. Universal Studios' pricing is significantly higher than Cedar Fair's. They bake into their pricing the cost of things like those lockers that don't require any direct payment. You paid when you bought the ticket. Holiday World (and now ASA) include the cost of parking, soda, and sunscreen when they determine what to charge for tickets. You've paid for it upfront, so there's no need to take your money in the park. Cedar Fair's lockers are only operated at a cost to those guests who use them. I also never use the lockers, as everything is in a cargo pocket, in the car, or at home. With this pricing model, I don't have to pay for them.
