Cedar Fair looking to layoff Spongebob and Friends

Featured Replies

Just read over on Screamscape, an asumption of Cedar Fair looking to loose the Nickelodeon crew, and ASSUMING, it being re-themed to the Peanuts gang..

Call me crazy, Kings Island's getting gutted.. slashed like a bad horror film.

If this is the case, which I highly doubt, they're about to upset and alienate a very large portion of their customers for the former Paramount Parks.

I mean, yeah, a lot of people know, remember, and love the Peanuts Gang, especially Snoopy and Woodstock. But try holding up a picture of Lucy and a picture of Dora the Explorer to a four-year-old girl and see which one she runs after first. The same goes for a picture of Woodstock versus a picture of SpongeBob SquarePants to a seven-year-old boy.

That rumor states that this would happen for the 2009 season. I find it hard to believe since Kings Island is already busy with something else for 2009.

That wouldn't necessarily mean that all of the Paramount Parks would have their Nick-themed areas redone to Peanuts in the exact same year.

Remember that Carowinds was the first to start their redesign of their Hanna-Barbera kids area to Nickelodeon in 2005, with KI to do the same the following year. If this were true, then it would be the same thing that Paramount did; next year, one of the former Paramount Parks gets their Nick area rethemed to the Peanuts Gang, then it would go in rotation every year after 2009.
