Delirium33
I finally have gotten around to report on my trip to Knott's last week. We went on a Monday, and got to the park before it opened. When we pulled up to the parking toll both, my dad flashed his KI Platinum pass, and the attendant let us through, no questions asked. When we got to the gate, we went to Guest Relations and they printed out day tickets to use at the gate becuase they said the passes wouldn't scan... so overall it was really easy using our platinum passes to get in. We were at the park for the park's opening. They played the national anthem just like KI and droped the ropes when it was over. We first headed to Pony Express, their new ride for '08. It's a really neat concept and a different feel for a coaster... being saddled on a horse... but the ride was very simple and extremely short. But again, definately worth the expirience. The launch was pretty cool. We mainly went to the park to ride the big rides... we had other plans in LA for the day so we weren't going to spend the whole day seeing the shows, ect. Here's a summery of what we rode: Xcelerator was incredible! One of my favorite rides I've been on, (even though I haven't been to Cedar Point Yet) They ride op told me that at 0-82 in 2 seconds, it was the quickest accelerating ride in the world... but I don't know if that's true. But the launch was incredible, and the banked turns after the first hill were intense. Supreme Scream was not nearly as thrilling as Drop Zone IMO Silver Bullet was my second favorite ride at Knott's. It was really intense and extremely smooth, and also pretty long. KI could really use a ride like that. Sierra Sidewinder was a surprisingly intense and fun ride, probably my third favorite in the park. It was neat to be spinning while riding and was a really fast-paced ride. Riptide was very intense- just inversion after inversion- it was my first top-spin ride other than the crypt. Oh and while there were signs warning us that we may get wet, the water guns were not working. Ghostrider was alright, a little disappointing. It shook me up more than Son of Beast has since it's reopening. It was almost like RCT where whoever built the ride forgot to bank the turns. It was really jerky side-to-side. I much prefer any of KI's woodie's over that one. After riding most the coasters and big rides in the park, we left to head to Universal Studios. Overal a great trip. Xcelerator was worth the trip alone. Oh, and while we were only there in the morning and early afternoon, the crowds were VERY light. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes.
