How long does the entire concert usually last, and what time does it start? (Like what time did it start last year, and how long did it last.) I need to plan our day around the concert. Thanks. BTW We have tickets in 3-D for Friday.

The earlier acts will take about 30-45 minutes, and the later acts will take about a hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. Also there will be at least a 30 minute break between bands. I believe the concerts will begin some where around noonish, maybe 2 PM, and go until close to park closing, if not after the park closes.

Also I hope the concerts are in 3d

LOL ok thanks. Looks like we should probably plan on riding some rides between the Newsboys & Third Day sets, not too sure about the other acts.

I don't even know what Spirit Song is, but I know that Skillet is amazing

spirit song is a christain music based concert with many different bands that play for 3 days. from like 12 to closing time.

I agree Skillet is great! Make sure not to miss them if you are going.

Here is some Newsboys information. Peter Furler (lead singer) has decided to quit touring with the band (except for certain performances). Michael Tait will be filling in for him. Michael Tait was one of the lead singers for dc Talk.

I've never really gotten into Newsboys, but with Tait as the singer that's a reason for me to give them another shot. I love dc Talk and have enjoyed Tait's, Tobymac's and KMax's solo stuff.

I had the opportunity to chat a little bit with Michael Tait a few years ago backstage at Timberwolf. He's a nice guy, very down to earth. It's good to know he's taking on new challenges. Now if we could only get a dc Talk reunion...

I think Michael Tait is a great replacement since he knows how to put on a good show. I would love a dc Talk reunion. I have been waiting for it ever since they had their "Intermission"

The list of band schedules will be posted each day. That way we will know the lineup, and plan our day around the bands we want to see.

So, have never been, but my family has tix this year. Do they let people stand in front of the stage or do you have to stay in your seats? Also, from the other posts I gather that you can come and go during the shows. Do they allow food in the ampitheater?

There are seats in front of the stage, yes food and drinks is allowed in the amphitheater

hmm.....well I wouldnt really know as I only stayed for the Newsboys for the past 2 years. that was about an hour

and yeah i saw Skillet at Winter Jam 2008...and man. It was great. you've got the hardcore concert experience with the effects (fire, great lighting), but you still have the Christian atmosphere

Do the artists have a bunch of merchendise on sale? And do you get to meet them afterwards? I am going just to see Family Force 5!

as for the merchendise: yes. pretty sure that all bands have a booth with merchendise

meeting the band: i dont know. i didnt get to.

All bands have merchandise there, SOME bands will hang out with fans afterwords at those stands

I realize now that Spirit Song is at the end of our vacation week -- so I'm trying to figure out whether to just go to KI earlier in the week and skip SpiritSong, or plan our time at KI during SpiritSong, as we'd really enjoy several of the concerts. I'm concerned about the crowds during the concert days -- I'm guessing they're are large crowds those days?

Anybody have experience? We want to have time to ride stuff without standing in line all day, but at the same time, the concerts would be very cool... Maybe if we ride stuff Wed & Thurs? Then focus only on the concerts Fri/Sat and do something else during the daytime hours? or are the concerts all day Fri/Sat?

Alright you will definately want to ride during the week and concerts on the weekend. Yes the concerts are pretty much all day on friday and saturday, 2-after close i believe. The park will be packed on concert mornings but probably wont be bad once they start
