Dvo
Brace yourselves, this could get long. So I started my day getting to the park at 6:45 to register for the auction. I was also very glad to see some of my friends from PointBuzz at the park as well. Let me tell you, this thing could have been organized a lot better. So I wait about 20 minutes in a line at the group sales booth to register. Then I finally get in the gate, to find the auction winners waiting to be taken back to rivertown.. Never understood why they made us wait here. After about 10 more minutes we headed back to Rivertown Junction (formerly Wings), to (guess what...) WAIT in another line. And in this one, we had to write down all of our information yet again, and we made our payments inside, followed by an issuing of tee shirts with rider number stickers. My whole problem with this is that we essentially had to "register" our auction bid three different times. Once outside the park gate, once to pay them, and then again to get our tee shirt. It seems like they could have done this in one shot. The line would move slower, but I think the overall time would be dramatically down. At least they got smarter when it came to ordering the riders. They just took groups of 50 and had everyone order themselves. So at about 8:40 I finally got my first ride on Dback. I was in car 4, row 2. I must say, the initial ride did not really impress me. The coaster was still warming up, so it was kind of creeping over the camelbacks, leading to no air time. Then after all that, I got off to get my free picture, which took about 20 more minutes. And by then the gold pass ERT folks had gotten back there, so the line was PACKED. Ugh. But fear not, more Dback to come later. After that, a small group of us (Jackson and his mom, Giga, Violakat, Rex, and a few others) and I went over and hit The Beast. We were able to get on in only about 5 minutes, but when we got off that line had backed way up too. So we then headed over to coney mall for the 10 am opening of everything. A few of us were waiting for FoF, but it was down for maintenance so we ended up going to Racer. Great ride, short wait. Then we hit Adventure Express. Again great ride, short wait. After AE, we decided to split up and go our separate ways, as a few of us were meeting other people. I met up with my Uncle and we did Racer again, then we walked around through Nick U and rode Avatar (the ride, you sickos, and also a guilty pleasure). After that we headed back to The Beast again because he hadn't ridden it with me in the morning. Unfortunately this time it was about a 75-minute wait. Ouch. I don't think I've ever seen all those turnstiles open. But there's a first time for everything I guess. A few hours later with my Uncle, and he too had to go home. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and a few other small things. Once my Uncle left, I was able to bring out my real thrill seeker. I headed straight for Drop Tower. I was excited to see that the wait was only about 30 mins. DBack really pulls the crowd over to Rivertown area. So I got on Drop Tower, one of my fav rides there, and then hit Invertigo. Pretty long line, but fun. So, after hitting up mostly everything I wanted to ride in the park (other than FoF and Firehawk, because those were VERY long lines...), I sat and ate some dinner before heading back over to Dback. I got in the line, that was a full queue, and then stretched back into Nick Universe. I was afraid this might take me about 2.5 hours to get through. Boy was I wrong! That line really moves. I was incredibly impressed with the Dback crew yesterday. I didn't see it go down all day, and they were really cranking out trains. It only took me about 50 minutes to get through that entire line... but along the way I found out a hidden gem via my friends from PointBuzz.. The single rider line! That is such a fantastic addition. We were able to get a ton of rides in using that last night, including the very last train of the night! The evening rides were incredible as opposed to my morning ride. The coaster had warmed up and was flying over the hilltops. The back is definitely the best. I still didn't get lucky enough to get the very back seat, but I rode in the 2nd last row, and WOW! Tons of air. All in all, I got 8 Dback rides, four times what I had planned on getting. Again, a major compliment to the DBack crew. We got to talk to the area superviser at DBack, Brian, and he was a fantastic person. He was very open to just talking to us about everything, especially the addition of the Single Rider line. He even asked us for suggestions on how to do it better! But in all honesty I think they did as good a job yesterday as they could have. Fantastic weather, fantastic rides, and a fantastic day. Hoping to come back later this year

Am I correct in assuming that to go in the single riders line, you have to wait in the queue before the official queue begins?
Dvo
^Gah! I'm jealous! And yes, if the line overflows onto the midway you have to wait until you get up to the sign. Then you can enter the single rider line.
Diamondback FOF
Ok, that is what I thought and what I did yesterday. BTW, if it is kinda chilly out, then make sure you put your arms in front of you on the restraint, because if you hold them up, then the one on the outside of the train WILL get wet, VERY wet. Next time you go through the line, ask the person that assigns the seat to sot in the back row. That is what I did both times.
violakat03
Just remember that going through the single riders line, you sacrifice the ability to pick your own seat. To get that ability, you must go through the full queue and wait the full wait. I got 2 rides in the back seat (first auction ride, then second ride in the afternoon), but after that, I rode everywhere in the train. And yes, your arms WILL get wet in the back seat! kiruler102
yes but you will get splashed in the last 3 or so rows.

I think you can say hey I want to go last row or something and they'll stick you with another single rider, but they prefer not to. I rode with someone on my second to last trip that was on his 19th lap of the day. On his 20th ride, they asked him where he wanted to sit and him and another single rider got front seat. People in the main line were complaining that they got to choose their own seat.
