jonnyvelvet
My brother and I are from Huntington, WV... we have been coming to Kings Island 3 or 4 times a year since about 1983. We decided to visit the park this week (the 27th and 28th). The park was not crowded and most of the rides were walk ons. The longest wait for both days was a 15 min wait for Firehawk. We both managed to get in 20 Diamondback rides: 10 each day!! I can't get enough of this coaster!! It was everything that I had imagined and more! The air time is simply magnificent!! I had one main concern I wanted to address within this post: ( I wasn't sure where it belonged so I will talk about it here ) On our last day, around 5:00 we hit up white water canyon! This is a great ride and we try to hit it about 3 or 4 times in a row each time we visit the park. My brother and I were the only ones in our raft, however as we were coming around to the final geysers, I noticed a full raft of young boys un buckling their belts and moving about the raft. The manager and ride op on duty yelled and told them to stay seated ect. Upon returning to the station, we were confronted by two of the ride ops.... They yelled at us, treated us like children and told us that if we did not leave the ride they were going to kick us out of the park. I asked what for, and they told us it was because we had been taking our seatbelts on and off and running around the raft. It was the boys on the raft in front of us. We were falsely accused and embarrassed in front of everyone else in line. I am 28, my brother 26. We don't line jump, break park rules, or anything of that nature. I tried to tell the ops that we were being falsely accused but they kicked us off the ride. We were both so embarrassed about being accused of something we would never dream of doing. We headed straight for guest relations, where they listened very closely to our side of the story. They were wonderful and had us both fill out complaint forms. Again, I have been coming to Kings Island for almost 28 years and this is the first time I have ever had a bad experience!! I was steaming mad!!! Has this happened to anyone else..... just curious ???? Thanks, Jonathan
Kawana
That's interesting. More interesting because the manager and a ride op yelled at the boys in question. Did they suddenly forget who was breaking the rules? It would be sad to hear that KI ride supervisors have resorted to intimidation and false accusations that border on thuggery to get a point across. That has never happened to me at all, sorry to hear about that. Did you at least get the ride op's names so they could be properly dealt with? jonnyvelvet
Yes we remembered their names. However, for privacy reasons I will choose to keep the names silent.
TopThrill
Wow sorry to hear about what happen to you on WWC. I do think that's pretty bad how a manager and a ride op were yelling at them, then when the raft returned they didn't remember the raft that really did that. That would have to be three or four mins right? Yeah I've gotten 12 rides in on DB in one day, pretty good.
trevor75
yeah sorry to hear that, but at least guest relations seemed to care and listen.
