Schlitterban - South Padre

Featured Replies

I'll edit this and write up a trip report later, just wanted to post a link to pictures I took today. I just uploaded them to my facebook page. I believe it's set for everyone to be able to view them, even if you aren't on my friends list.

Here is the link

OK cool so I guess the link is working :)

So yesterday we went to Schlitterban. It was a fun day, we arrived around 11am and left around 7. The parking lot was less than half full when we arrived. I was suprised by how small the park was, I guess the one by San Antonio is bigger and better.

Pretty much the entire park is one big lazy river, you take this around the park to get to pretty much ever water slide/water coaster. There is a section of the lazy river that is the rapids, I have some pictures of it on my facebook.

They have about 6 slides that shoot you back up the hills. This was the first i'd been on one of these. I wasn't a big fan of these, except for one the tempest. It was on the back side of the park, so it always had a small line. I took a bunch of pictures of this slide.

The kids area was pretty small, but the boogie board machine was much bigger than BB's. Over all I'd rank BB and Cedar Point's water park over this park in South Padre. It was pretty much just all the same stuff. It was missing some major attactions like a racing slide, wave pool, giant funnel, and enclosed slides.

I'll try and add more later if I get a chance. This is my first try at a trip report, so I'm not sure how to transfer all my pics from facebook into this thread.

The link worked for me. Fantastic photos! Looks like you had the place pretty much to yourself! That is one place I would absolutely LOVE to visit in the near future.

I saw a special about Schlitterban on the Travel Channel and have wanted to go ever since. After your photos, I may enter their lazy river system and never get out!

Thanks for sharing. B)

Have you been to the New Braunfels site too? Im interested in hearing a comparison between the two sister parks.

I'm headed to New Braunsfels along with every other major Texas park in late July. I'll be sure to give it a write up!
