Cedar Point Entrances

Recommended Posts

I will be leaving for Cedar Point tomorrow morning and probably going to the park at night and then all day Thursday for sure. Yes, I know the forecast but that's not stopping us. I have not been to the park in 10 years so I am coming to you guys for help. My question is, what entrance is best to use? I know there is a marina entrance and the main gate but I am unsure of how to get to either one and who is allowed to enter these gates. I have my employee ID but my brother will have to buy a ticket. I hope that helps and help form you would be much appreciated.

Why not use the main entrance?

The question is what ride do you want to ride first? Also what ride do you want to ride last?

Every entrance has a ticket booth.

Main Entrance: Near Raptor, just follow the parking attendants and the mass of humanity its not hard to find

Marnia Entrance: Near MF, park in the main lot. Then walk towards the Blue Streak's turnaround you will notice a blue pathway following the perimeter road, walk up it and youll reach the Marnia enterance.

Resort Entrance: Near Magnum, Maverick, and TTD. You need to park in the Soak City Lot for this one, to do so make sure you pull up to the far left booth or if you cant do that try to get as left as possible. If you got into that far left lot, go straight down the perimeter road past Blue Streak, MF, Maverick and Mean Streak until you can take a left by Gemini, thats your lot. If you cant make it to the far left parking booth, put on your left blinker and try to get as left as possible before the first parking attendant, he will direct you left, then take a right on the perimeter road. Entrance is right behind Magnum's lift.

Beach Entrance: Near Wicked Twister. You need to park in the Soak City Lot for this one too (see above.) To get to this entrance walk towards the Breakers Hotel and then go inside and follow the path to TGI Fridays, walk out onto the boardwalk and walk towards WT.

Its not easier to get out of, its at one end of the park. I would suggest the Resort enterance, you get placed in the middle of the park, and you actually get out quicker at the end of the night since the attendants give preference to perimeter road traffic.

Ok Main Entrance it is! I'm thinking about Maverick for the first ride though. Thoughts?

Oh and my parents will just be dropping my brother and I off at the park. Is there a drop off/pick up area like at KI where you do not need to go through the parking tolls. I have free parking with my ID but for picking up purposes.

Im assuming you wont both have Platinum/resort benefits. Maverick, MF, and Raptor are all open to resort guests and Platinum pass holders 1 hour before opening, and thus will all have substantial lines. Your best bet is TTD first. Also Maverick is more then a mile away from the main entrance (Im not joking it literally is to give you a comparison CP's size is about the size of Epcot.)

Also, I ask you to reconsider your choice of entrance, I guarantee that you will have less of a walk to your car if you go the Resort entrance route.

There is no drop off area before the tolls! Just have them scan your ID then drive toward Main Gate. Right before the pavilion by Demon Drop is the drop off area. BTW, anyone with any type of admission, can use any of the four public gates at CP, including employees.
