weluvki
I am new to this whole "trip report" thing...so please bear with me! We had such a fun trip I just had to share! Our group (3 adults and 9 kids) arrived at the park and were greeted with very minimal crowds. (I always get a little excited when I see the parking lot pretty much empty!) Our first ride was Flight of Fear (which I sat out on with the kids who did not want to ride). The group reported a "not too bad" line so they were all very happy! Next we rode Firehawk...which was still about a 40 minute wait even on a day with sparse crowds. It was a very special ride due to the fact that my daughter (12 years old) was riding it for the first time with me! At first she looked like she was having fun...but them that look turned to "holy crap..get me off here!!" It was pretty amusing! Her conclusion was that it was very scary and she will not do it again (unless coerced by/harrassed by friends!). The day turned out to be great for her because she rode a few rides that she had never ridden before! I was proud of her! These are her reviews as a first time rider on the following: Firehawk- See above Invertigo- "Made me very dizzy...but so much fun to be across from your friends and to be able to see their reaction!" Drop Tower- "OMG!! That was the best ride I have ever ridden!! Come on Mom...I have to ride it again! This is my new favorite ride!" Moving right along...the crowds stayed pretty light for the most part. We rode all the usual suspects (Scrambler, Monster, Diamondback, Shake Rattle and Roll, Racer...etc) and I took my little guy (6 years old and just about a 1/4 of an inch too short from all the rides he would love to ride) to Nick Universe where we rode Phantom Flyers, Runaway Reptar, FOC, etc. At this point I decide to go ahead and take him home and let my daughter stay with her friends (and their mom's). Fast forward to the Channel 5 11:00 news. I am watching the news and I hear "Guess who rode Diamondback at Kings Island today..." I look up at the TV and hear "Tommy Lee from Motley Crue enjoyed Diamondback today at Kings Island". I am thinking "that is pretty cool"! Also I am sort of bummed that we did not happen to see him! Then they show the picture and I look closely....4 rows behind Tommy Lee (he is in the front row) are my daughter's friends...and the row behind them is my daughter and her other freind!! Talk about a shock!! Apparently they went for another ride on Diamondback after I had left! I asked my daughter about it and she said "well...we saw a group of people come up through a different entrance and Kaitlyn (her friend) and I said ..."that guy looks like Criss Angel"...who is Tommy Lee? And what is Motley Crue?" Can you believe that?? I started to feel very old at that moment.....very very old. Oh well...I knew it would happen someday! Anyway....it was a GREAT day at KI with an exciting surprise at the end of the day!!

weluvki
My daughter's friends are in the green shirt and white shirt...my daughter is in the white shirt (behind the girl in the green shirt) and her friend is right next to her! The look on my daughter's face is so funny! She looks like she is about to have a heart attack and is holding on for dear life!

Mr. Coastermania
That is neat. I remember seeing elvis back in long beach at the pike in the early 70's.I was just a kid then and did not know at the moment who he was until all the fuss broke out. Hope she will tell her kids when she gets older. And like always they will ask who is that?
