I know this is not PKI related, but the coaster Steel Dragon 2000 in Nagashima Spaland in Japan had a couple of wheels come off of one of the trains, causing it to come to a complete stop and later closing it. Now, there's a news article claiming that some bolts were found to be loose or defective. Only two people were injured. One person on the train claimed to have hurt their back, while another person was injured below the track after a wheel came loose and hit them. It makes me wonder how many parks out there are doing this. Hopefully, this will mean that all parks will step up their inspections. It blows me away that something like this could happen. The funny thing is, I just read an article a couple of days ago at coasterbuzz about the inspection crew for Alpinegeist and they were talking about how thorough their inspections are. And, for the most part, I trust that these parks are maintaining their rides, but, I have to wonder about the ones that don't make as much money as the next. Are they risking leaving worn parts on their rides just to save a few bucks? What do you guys think?
