On Wednesday, 2/4/04, **** Von Hoene died at the age of 63 - apparently from a heart attack. Mr. Von Hoene's TV career began in the early 1960s as a TV broadcaster. He hosted a horror series on TV as the "Cool Ghool". And he was best known for hosting ICN6's Northern Kentucky Magazine with Tawana Thomas in Northern Kentucky. He worked the day he died, went shopping afterward, and passed away.

Northern Kentucky Magazine was a great show that featured famous and not-so-famous celebrities from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati including Charles Infosino (me) for the Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island and Wera Vongbumru for Siam Orchid Thai Restaurant.

In addition to my book, Northern Kentucky Magazine often discussed Paramount's Kings Island and its importance to our region.

Mr. Von Hoene gave a voice to the voiceless and entertained hundreds of thousands on TV. He will surely be missed and my condolences go out to his family.

My condolences go out to his family too. I vaguley remember his show, but the character he played I won't forget. I remember his saying, which I cannot replicate, nor can I spell it out. (it's like blah blah blah).

Also, I noticed the censorship on this site is working well since it censored his first name.

Thank you for those nice words. I was one of the two camera people in the studio that day on his last show for Mr. Dick Von Hoene. Alot of people know him as the "Cool Ghool" in this area. We at ICN 6 are still in shock that this has happend. Mr. Dick Von Hoene will be missed very much.
