Was actually a pretty cool ride. I was terrified to go upside down on it tho (I was only like 8 tho).

The woman who was killed on it was drunk and manuevered her way out of her restraints.

Here is the question: How long was FC open after the woman died??

I believe it remained for close to 4 sesons after the accident, the accident was in 1991 (I think) and I am pretty sure the ride was removed following the 1995 season. The ride was not removed because of the accident, but because of the low ridership that became even worse after the incident. If I remember correctly the ride was never a guest favorite at the park, but always had long lines because of how slow loading it was.

I used to love that ride cause while u were upside down u could move the joystick back and forth to remain upside down. Plus there was always a lot of change on the station that u could pick up. That was where i got a lot of my money for the arcade.

The "joystick" was not much of a joystick. It was very similar to the device used to move your side car mirrors. The ride was not very exciting either. Your view was basically the rear of the car in front of you and you really did not swing out that much. The flyers have more movement than Flight Commander. The seating position was very uncomfortable too. You sat in the car with your legs straight out.

The only change made after the death was that you could not ride alone. The woman slipped out from the restraints because she passed out and there was no one next to her to hold her in. Nothing was lost when this ride was removed.
