RailRider
Our final day in California was spent visiting San Francisco. We visited Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, Alamo Square, China Town and The Golden Gate Bridge to name a few locations. A great way to end an amazing trip and really to take in the beauty of SanFran. The highlight of this day was taking one of the Blue & Gold fleets cruises around Alcatrez and then under the Golden Gate, amazing way to see the city and the bay. Seals in SanFran are like Pigeons in most cities. They are everywhere. Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf Very Crodwded at the Pier Ridding the Panda on the top deck. The Rock Time to get on a boat. Downtown from the Bay In the Fog More to come.

I have taken that cruise many times and it is truly great (if you can get past the boat colors and names). I can never see enough photo's of the SF skyline, Alcatraz, and especially The Golden Gate Bridge - I have so many that my wife has actually stopped me from printing, mounting, and hanging more of them around the house, and I also have it as the background of both my home and office computers. There is just something awe inspiring about it to me.
Avatar
Wow RailRider I have really enjoyed reading each and everyone of your updates to your report. I have been so busy and had to resort to reading KIC updates on the IPhone. I was so happy to see an update from you and enjoyed reading about your families California adventures and the breath taking pictures you shared with us. Believe me when I tell you this, your updates brought a smile to my face and brightened my day. I have shared your report with the wife and suggested maybe we should be heading west for some of our vacations in the coming years. Thanks for taking the time. RailRider
^ I was one who was never keen on the idea of going to California, but this past year provided an amazing opportunity to go to both Southern and Northern California. Both are unique in their own way, but for the amusement park and Disney fan as yourself you owe yourself a trip to SoCal, a visit to Disneyland, and a few burgers from In-N-Out. Trust me it is well worth it and the beaches in SoCal are amazing, we cannot wait to go back and stay in Laguna/Newport beach again. I think it is time that Avatar and the family packs their bags and heads west.

RailRider
Sorry all for the delayed postings. Been extremely busy during the first of the year, but this will conclude the final portion of the trip. These pics are from our cruise out in to SanFran bay, under the Golden Gate Bridge and around The Rock. The Golden Gate in the fog. closer and bigger. Only one way to get this shot. Very big bridge. Welcome to The Rock! (in my best Sean Conery impression) San Fran from the Bay. Post Card Row. Full House Anyone? Thanks all for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed the trip report and especially this long delayed update. Had a great time in NoCal for a few short days, Yosemite was amazing as was Peble Beach and now I can say I have been to SanFran. Great trip and saw many amazing sites. Hope you have all enjoyed and I will eventually be posting some panoramics I have stiched together of Yosemite. Let me know if you have any questions about the trip or the experience. Thanks for sharing in the adventure...
