November 21, 200322 yr Which of the following listed theme parks would you like to see PKI model itself after? Or do you have your own ideas? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
November 21, 200322 yr :cowboy: well Mr. Chef, i'd actually like to see a combination of option 1 and option 2. for now i voted for option 2 just becuase am a 19 year old young man, with no intention of having a family anytime soon, and i am the youngest in my family (on both sides) therefore, the family attractions do not appeal to me at this time... However, 10 years from now as i stated in the thread realted to 10 years from now, i would like to see PKI as more of a family oriented theme park, as well as a park that has kept up with state of the art thrill rides. i really hope to see PKI expand on what it is now and become its own type of park. one that caters to both families and thrill seekers, while still incorporating heavy theming to all of its attractions... as for record breaking coasters... i'm not one who is all about the biggest and the fastest... i'm all about ride quality, and overall enjoyment of the ride. I love TTD, however i dont think the 17 seconds it lasted was worth my 6 hour wait on opening day... just doesnt have the quality i'm looking for. I didnt enjoy it as much as i do a good old night ride on The Beast... i hope to see PKI add at least one more overall great coaster to their already amazing arsenal in the next few years. My two cents....
December 28, 200322 yr I don't think PKI should model itself after anyone. It would be best for PKI to go in their own direction and do things their own way. Sure, they could learn from other parks but I think that PKI is big enough to set the industry standard themselves.
December 28, 200322 yr Author I love PKI too, so much so that I wrote the first book exclusively about it. However, as a person who keeps track of the amusement industry, one cannot ignore Disney's prominence and leadership. I would like to see PKI become more Disney-like.
January 10, 200422 yr I wish that PKI would model itself after the combination of Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure. I thought Hulk and Dueling Dragons were excellent coasters (both satisfy a coaster enthusiast), and the themed rides were all excellent. The two parks are a great mix, and i think PKI could use alot more themed rides. Paramounts is a huge movie company, yet PKI doesn't seem to be using this to their advantage (besides TR:TR). They need alot more of these themed rides and themed sections. IOA had some extremely cool themed sections like Jurassic Park and the Lost Continent. PKI should try this..
January 11, 200422 yr I want to see Kings Island become more like Disney World because they have rides that I like to ride.
January 22, 200422 yr Lately it seems as though the park has pulled out of the Coaster Wars and invested in more family oriented rides. Obviously the addition of SDAHC was aimed at the younger children, while Delirium was for the teenagers and adults. It seems as though the park is leaning toward the family approach which would make them a little more like Walt Disney World. However PKI has a long way to go on if they want to even compete with Disney's expertise in theming. Thats one thing our beloved PKI must learn to do is keep up the theming and not let it deteriorate over the years.
January 23, 200422 yr It does look like PKI is going after more theming, but I think that they will go more towards the Universal route with a mix of thrills and theming. Disney is pretty much a "family" park, but I don't think that PKI wants to only be a "family" park.
