NBC/General Electric owns Discovery Channel and Travel Channel, etc and NBC/General Electric now owns the theme park assets of Vivendi-Universal. They are promoting their own attractions. It was a show about theming... if it was independent they obviously would've showed some Disney attractions. But it was run by the NBC/General Electric/Universal enterprise. Minimize promoting competing attractions. It's the business. Quote
Tanner Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 While that is probably some of it, Spiderman is one of the most advanced (the most actually) ride on this planet. It is a truly amazing ride, and is way ahead of its time. Dueling Dragons and Hulk are also incredible rides. I do have a bone to pick about the show though. What is up with the girl they picked to do the thing on Spiderman. She was a little over the top. Wow! The host even did a little rip on her once. Now no offense to people on here like her, but she needs a life. Quote

I believe that Discovery Communications, Inc. owns the Discovery Channel, TLC, the Travel Channel, Animal Planet and the Science Channel. I have never heard anywhere where NBC or General Electric owns the Discovery. I do know that there is a Discovery kids show on one of the major networks on the weekend, which might be NBC. However, I don`t think they are related beyond that. I did some digging around, and have found no link in ownership between NBC and Discovery. NBC does, however, own part of A&E and the History Channels. Quote
