2003 Screamscape Awards

The screamscape ultimate awards are in. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle took the award for Ultimate Dark Ride Attraction. They also came close in several other categories including Best Wooden Coaster.

I think it's interesting that TR:TR won two first place awards on there last year.

I'm proud that King's Island did quite well overall. Scooby Doo racked up a few points if I may say so. It's more than satisfying to see our home park as one of the top ten parks (in the world?) along with Disney parks, Cedar Fair's flagship park and Six Flags' flagship park. Go PKI!!!

By the way...I loved how The Bat and King Cobra were on the list for "Rides we wish were brought back"

PKD's Drop Zone isn't even a gyro drop. Wow, ScreamScape really does have "one of the most accurate surveys on the internet!"

EDIT: Also, King Cobra is now known as King Combra. Wow, they really don't know amusement parks!

For one PKD's Drop Zone is a gyro drop. Secondly everyone makes typos, big deal.

I thought it doesn't spin, which means it isn't a gyro. Can anyone confirm this? Does it spin?

Everywhere I've seen, rankings, fan pages; all classify and say it is a gyro drop.

Ok to tell you the truth I'm confused.

PKD's site says "Intamin Giant Drop." All the other Giant Drop's however have the seperate car seating. I guess PKD wanted the capacity of PKI's without the problems. So I'd say this is where the next generation of "Giant Drop" comes in. That's the only thing that makes sense to me, as originally it was supposed to rotate.
