fossilizedtreesap Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 My boyfriend and I went to KI yesterday (May 15) because since most schools were still in session and it was a Wednesday that crowds would be light. We had a fantastic time and were able to walk onto practically every ride. We loved KI, I had never been and he hadn't been in about 15 years. What are the best times to go for light crowds? I was looking at the two weeks in August when they change the schedule to 10am-8pm. Are these weeks low attendance as well? Thanks in advance! 1 Quote
Gabe Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I've found sunday mornings until about 1 Pm to be light as well (excluding holiday wknds). Quote
jdawg1998 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Any weekday in August or May is slow. Weekdays during the summer aren't necessarily slow, but they aren't crowded either. As long as you stay away from visiting on the weekends or holidays, you're okay. Quote
dare-to-fly Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 You are all forgetting Sundays in Sept (while open) and October. Best days of the year! 2 Quote
BB1 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 To begin, welcome to KIC! I suggest any where between Monday-Thursday, Wednesday seems to be the least crowds usually during the summer. Now during the fall I suggest Sundays, or if you want Saturday, go early on both days, except if you want to go to Haunt, come back before 7 to get into the line quickly for your favorite Haunt. spitfire Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Those weeks in August should be great times to go - we usually always make a point to head up during one of them since many kids have started going back to school. Just stick to the weekdays. We are usually able to pretty much walk on most rides during that time. Quote
XjoshhyX Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I feel like Tuesday and Wednesday are your best 2 days. We had gone a few times last year on Mondays and had large crowds, assuming its because people had our same thought. I would stick with Tuesday/Wednesdays or days where the forecast might not look to promising. Quote
fossilizedtreesap Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Thanks for all the input! It's unlikely that we will attend the parks during the summer due to the heat. My boyfriend does not fair well above certain temperatures and we noticed a lack of shade in the parks. 85 degrees on Wednesday was pushing it, but there was a nice constant breeze. Although, that saving grace of a breeze didn't allow WindSeeker to run. :/ We took a friend with us this time, we both agree we'd like to experience the park on our own. We get a good price on tickets from Kroger being in Louisville, so a second trip would totally be in our budget. I will definitely be looking forward to a future trip! And thanks for the welcome as well! 1 Quote
