July 23, 201313 yr If you look at the timestamps and post content carefully, you'll see that when I submitted the post at the top of the screenshot, the JavaScript/Ajax engine that submits and displays it without reloading the page somehow managed to insert the post above two earlier ones, including the one I was quoting. I have no clue why it did this. When I reloaded the page, the post was in the correct place. EDIT: It just happened to me again; this time it was inserted above 15 other posts. Firefox 22.0 on Windows 8, if it matters. Others have seen the same issue. Edited July 23, 201313 yr by jcgoble3
July 23, 201313 yr The whole site is buggy. I really do think there's too many posts/accounts to handle. I can't wait 'till the season dies down and the announcement has been made, because this is just getting too much. There's also been a lot of times where the site just doesn't load at all - happened to me about three times today!
July 23, 201313 yr Author I just noticed that on both occasions that I encountered the bug, the post was inserted between the same two posts: #7122 and #7123 in the Starting to Decode 2014 thread. I wonder if that could be a clue.
July 23, 201313 yr This is probably a timing problem, with responses to the XHR requests coming back in the wrong order. It's not very serious.. though I suppose it could cause you to miss reading a post. It's likely related to the occasional site slowdowns that have been occurring recently, which are themselves almost certainly caused by the database (mysql) server. One of the other websites on the same server could be running an application that overloads it.
July 23, 201313 yr I'm also having a problem where the site keeps crashing and I get an error message.
July 23, 201313 yr ^But it was happening when I few other threads too; doesn't happen that much any more so it probably was the traffic to the site in general.
