MommaSmurfCone
It looks like we are going to be able to get in another trip before my oldest starts school. However, the only days we could go would be this Sunday or Monday. I googled a crowd predictor for 2013 and it predicted that this Sunday would have moderate crowds and Monday would have heavy crowds. Does anyone here who goes often know how accurate this might be or why Sunday would have a lighter crowd than Monday? We were leaning toward going Monday so we didn't miss church and I had just assumed that it would be more crowded on a weekend.
LongTimeLurker
Monday is Reds day. Might be why.
MommaSmurfCone
Oh ok. Thanks for the heads up! I will look that up. We love baseball so that may entice us to go Monday anyway.
jcgoble3
Except for holiday weekends and special events, I usually see little difference between the crowds on Sunday and Monday (Saturday is generally the busy day). Weather is one of the biggest factors in determining crowd size, but both days look similar in that regard. The only thing that might affect the crowds, as LongTimeLurker pointed out above, would be Reds Day on Monday, but I don't know how much of an effect that has on the overall crowds. MommaSmurfCone
Great! Thank you. We went on a Wednesday at the end of May and that was surprisingly crowded, so I was hoping it wouldn't be any more so. Firehawk and Fof were both 90 min waits and most other rides were at least 45 mins waits. I was kind of hoping to avoid that this time, but we have stuff going on every other day until school starts. Thanks again for the responses!
jcgoble3
May is hit or miss with the crowds; some days the park is dead, and other days it gets slammed with school field trips. This time of year is more predictable. That said, this is getting close to the end of peak vacation season, and people will be taking their last-minute trips and park visits before school starts. Combine that with the beautiful weather forecast for both days, and those same waits you experienced in May are not out of the question on either day. So be prepared for that.
