jdf21972
2013 best events that year: Going to Cedar Point for the first time in years. My kids had never been and they enjoyed all the different coasters. Gatekeeper was my favorite , but my kids loved Maverick more. And they really enjoyed driving the antique cars. Thinking KI should invest some interest getting something of a car ride for families. 2013 was an exciting time with the announcement of Banshee and The Bat and the 24 million dollar investment being made at the park. 2014 is going to be a great year at KI. But the best for 2013 was making some new friends and having a great time enjoying KI with new friends. Cheers 2013, and looking forward to 2014 and beyond. APE
Best moment of 2013 for me was the birth of my first son. It was the day it was announced that Banshee would be announced a week or two later. Favorite moment involving a park was definitely the one and only visit we got to do anywhere this past season. The wife and I went to Kings Island for her birthday about ten weeks after my son was born. We went on Delirium first. As soon as we sat down it started pouring rain. Dispite being soaked and it being very crowded we had a great time the whole day.
LongTimeLurker
My 6 year old son finally hit the magical 48" mark this past season. My most memorable moment was an ERT on The Beast late in the season. We sat front row and with the early morning fog rising, it was amazing. We could not see the bottom of the second hill until we got there. For a good part of the ride the fog was just below the track or right at it. Our timing for the ride was perfect. Even counting all the night rides in my younger days, this is definitely my most memorable. And the fact that I got to enjoy it with my son made it even better. He still talks about that ride to this day - that boy has a great memory. He is a little bummed out that he is too short for Banshee. He's at 50 1/2" with shoes. I told him we would get him a stretcher.
