WDW Monorail Evacuated, Possible Lightning Strike

What could have been a very dangerous situation, reports that the Monorail went down after a possible lightning strike led to all 120 passengers being evacuated safely.

Do the Monorails supply there own power or do they receive it from the track?

Power is supplied from the I-Beam track to the monorail vehicle.
