Hey! This is my first time on KIC, but i have been to KI a few times in the past. I will be attending opening day this saturday and i was just wondering if you have any insights in to crowd size and best way to navigate through the park. I have a Platinum Pass as well as i noticed there is a preview night on friday, but since by pass was bought/renewed at CP, i assume i won't be able to get in.

If your Kings Island gold or Cedar Fair platinum pass was renewed (i.e. you had a 2014 pass and renewed it online or at a Cedar Fair park) on/before November 6, you are eligible for the preview night this Friday. Your pass might not scan if it's from another Cedar Fair park, but Guest Services can let you in after verifying your on-time renewal.

Crowd size is difficult to anticipate. The park is likely to be busy if the current forecast of mid 60s under sunny skies holds. If lines for major attractions like The Beast and Diamondback are long, try rides that might be have shorter wait times. Adventure Express, Vortex and even Banshee are good things to ride even on crowded days.

Also, the park is spelled "Kings Island" with no apostrophe; people are quite picky about that here. (Even the Cincinnati Enquirer gets that wrong, so don't feel too bad. )

Thanks for the advice! There is still ERT (30 minutes, i believe) on opening day, yes?

Yes ERT is scheduled for opening day, on Banshee, Diamondback, the two new rides in Planet Snoopy and select other rides in Planet Snoopy. Keep in mind they usually do not open the gates until right at 9:30 then you have to go through a special gate to get to the ERT rides by showing your pass.
