Leland Wykoff Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This is the way smart money works. Pigeon Forge is in the middle of a Cal Ripken Experience development. Except Pigeon Forge taxpayers are tapped for the full cost of site prep, construction, acquisition, road improvements, parking lots, utility provisions, and it will primarily serve peak summer baseball tournaments--a time lodging facilities are already at full occupancy. Pigeon Forge will spend upwards of $60 million in public dollars before all the final costs are tallied. Calk Ripken has no skin in the game. Only the taxpayers are being skinned. But at least Pigeon Forge projects a payment of twelve thousand dollars from Ripken in the first year. No kidding. 4 Quote

tjpavlik Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 This is kind of sad for me. I flew into Sandusky Airport (KSKY) as a student pilot both solo and with an instructor. A long time ago. 3 Quote
