Giving out exit passes is not Guest Relating.

Making guests happy isn't guest relating? Some reason I doubt an employee told her to f*** off as you say. When in the station for TTD, the ride ops talked to us, the supervisors talked to us. Many guests while waiting had people that weren't waiting go get drinks and they brought them to the platform and gave them to the ride ops and they brought them to the guests. Not only did the guests not want to see the ride breakdown, but they did not either as you could tell they were all very upset that the ride broke down.

I just want to know why everyone thinks that all coasters and flats should have 100% uptime. What the hell? This sounds tacky, but if I got stuck on a ride at King's Island or at any amusement park and wasn't injured, I'd go home and tell all my friends how I got stuck on such and such.

Some of you get ****ed, I would get excited!!

Exactly...

Right, TTD is down just as much as Tomb Raider. And, TR has has one more operating season under its' belt. But, you did say that Dragster wishes it had the uptime that TR has. Then, you retracted. So, which is it?

When did I retract the statement? If I'm thinking right you think I retracted it when I said TTD is down just as much as Tomb Raider, but if it is down just as much does that mean is can't be more?

CP employees talk?!?! Thats funny, when me and friends were their this season we were all the next to get on TTD and it broke which was fine but not a single assocaite said a word and there was also no announcements what so ever. I have witnessed this before on other attractions at CP. So, dont start this CP bull****.

I totally agree with PKI rulz, im not bashing CP they are a great park and have great rides, but thier employees suck, and as for thier employees telling people to f**k off i have heard of 4 different stories of that happening from friends and associates at PKI so i dont think they are lying about it. And no tanner sorry to pop your bubble pal, making guests happy isnt guest relating man. If we just made guests "happy" we wouldnt have to talk to people as much as we do when we have down time. Making them happy is giving them an exit pass, which is fine, but if i got stuck on SOB's lift or on face off or anything i would rather have an associate talking to us and cracking jokes and keeping everyone calm than just them giving out a piece of paper and sitting there like they were some sort of deaf mute, non sociable @ss hole, like Cedar Points employees, and like i said, thats the same story i get from everyone, so it seems to be true, you just seemed to be one of the lucky few people that actually get spoken to up at CP tanner

I've never been treated badly by any employees, CP or PKI. Usually, they have been pretty friendly. And, talkative. The year TTD opened, I bought a Dragster polo shirt and then got in line for Iron Dragon. I changed into my Dragster polo and one of the Dragon ride ops noticed my shirt and asked how I liked the ride. And, he chatted a little after that. It's those kinds of things that make a difference to me. The little things.

Tanner, first you said TTD wishes it had the uptime of TR:TR. Then, a couple of posts later, you admitted TR is down just as much. Either it's up time is more than Dragster or it's not. Which is it?

Having employees going out and talking with the guests stuck on a ride to keep them calm and cool is something I've seen our home park do.

If all of the employees in a park act the same, i.e. if they don't talk to the guests and just hand them an exit pass, maybe...just MAYBE they're being instructed to do so. I have a customer service job, and believe me, having customers ****ed at you is one thing you try to avoid. I seriously doubt that Cedar Point employees are being "non sociable assholes" and "deaf mute" on their own choice. If that is how ALL of the employees are, I'll bet my bottom dollar that that is what upper-level management is telling them to do.

Think about it.

I have never been to a park where the employees treat the guests better than King's Island. The employees actually try to hold short conversations with you and actually act like they care about you. THAT is what makes PKI a great park and gives guests a great experience.

I have. At Cedar Point. Funny, I've been going to PKI since nearly its' inception and I have never had any PKI employees(and, I'm not talking just ride ops) talk to me or ask me how I liked such and such attraction or interracted in any way. However, at Cedar Point, I have talked to several employees and had them ask me how my day has gone or did I enjoy such and such ride. And, I have only been going there since 2000. I'm not saying that PKI's employees do not do this at all, but it has been my experience that they don't. And, after all of these years going there, you would think that at least one time this would have happened.

It may just be the age difference between you and I. I'm "only" 17 and many of the other PKI employees are about my age. If I worked at the park and was 17, I probably wouldn't be asking a 30-something year old how their day at the park was going, simply because of the age difference. There's nothing much more to it. That's my honest opinion.
