Columbus coasternut
I think it would be great if they would let the visitors and employees choose what new rides would be built do it in a survey fashion when you walk in the gate when you get your cheesy picture taken
TraderJake
Umm... they kind of do let the guests have a say in what new attractions will be built, did you ever notice the wonderful Guest Relations people out there conducting the surveys where your cheesy photo (We love Keyhole) is taken, or the existence of ThrillResearch.com? I know I did every morning walking to and from Spotlight and Gateway. The guest should have some say in what the park should build, but it should not be solely based on what the guests want, but what is the best for the park. erniebald57
Amusement parks do extensive surveys and research when putting in new rides, one of those methods is to interview and survey park guests. PKI is no different in this area. In a way, the people have an indirect say as to what goes in the park. Thats not to say that the public gets the final say. As important as people's opinions are, most of them have no idea of what is best for the park at that particular time. If this were the case, then you would probably be building a coaster every year, and as fun as coasters are, they aren't the end all be all of amusement parks. derbeast
The park is going to build what is best for them based on cost, availability of manufacturer, contracts with manufacturers, and what the park needs, etc. If you think it's a difference of "what I want and what I don't want," you are very wrong. Paramount's Kings Island has entertained millions of visitors and is one of the most well rounded parks I have ever been to. They must be doing something right. There is a reason the people who make these decisions hold these positions. They base their decisions based partially on what the consumer wants but there are many other considerations that they must account for. Therefore I did not vote on this stupid poll. Yeah, is that not what park surveys are for? It's obvious that if the park wants to build something that people want or like, then they're going to do it to make more money. There are limits to size of rides, speeds, physics stuff...and not to forget, cost. The only way to do this is to get the reaction or opinion of the park's customers. A park isn't going to build something that people won't like or ride or use. That's called a waste of money.
drewbari
That would be great if we could pick the rides.
Maestro
No. It's cool to give feedback, but the folks at the park know what they are doing. While we may not always agree, they do what's best for business. And eventually, good business gets us the rides we do want!
WildCat
That would be great if we could pick the rides. Well I know that the park will not let you pick the rides. They know what they are doing. The park needed a flat rides and a updated water park it bring in money in the long term not the short term in years. I can see a coaster coming we will not get to pick it out but you do get to ride it.
