Losantiville Mining Co.
Consider this a place to generally discuss things that are happening around the new Six Flags chain that might not be quote-unquote "worthy" of their own topic(s). Six Flags Great Adventure released a new version of their mobile app park map today, with the notable changes being the ride removals. There is a fun spot on the map near the left of Superman: Ultimate Flight where you can still see the outline of some of Green Lantern in the trees. I did hear that the main park map will allegedly look different this year, but I haven't seen anything official. Does this mean we will start to see more Cedar Fair new-style maps across the chain this year? Who knows. Canada's Wonderland may be getting some new food options this season. Six Flags Over Georgia seems to be building a new drink bottle program where guests scan their bottle (similar to how it works at some Universal properties), potentially replacing the need for every drink station to be constantly staffed. I think the Nighthawk Pathway might be opened back up once all of the demolition work is done. Whether or not the park will put up a ton of fencing or just leave it open is in the air, but I think the park is also looking at how guest flow ends up while its closed. Personally, I'd like to see the paddleboat return, but anything is possible. Lastly for anyone wondering, you can add your All Park Passport to the Six Flags app. It will show up as a "Daily Ticket", but it's there. Exciting times!
Losantiville Mining Co.
Six Flags just released a new "New Hire / Funsultant" ad for various parks across the chain. It begins with a worker man setting up a desk in front of Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds, putting his feet up on it, and getting comfortable as other employees in the background frantically run to get the park ready for the season. The camera then shows the feet of a person wearing high heels walking up to the desk, scaring the man, and adjusting the "Funsultant" title plate on the desk before cutting to a shot of dancers from Grand Carnivale. The ad then shows three shots from whichever park it is specifically advertising and ends with a short promotion of the Silver Pass. I think it's a fun ad (pun intended) with my only question being if we'll get to see more of this "new hire" character. It seems like a good setup for some potential legacy Six Flags parks to update their image, like we've seen through physical changes in parks like Great Adventure. The Cedar Fair side has been shining through in a lot of the new updates and additions, so we will continue to see more as time goes on. (I don't have a link to the video, but if anyone does then feel free to share it)
