I had planned to get to Kings Island when it first opened. I had stayed in Dayton the night before because I have family there and had planned to wake up early and get there. My family decided that they would join. Since they had younger kids I decided to not go so early. Long story short, we ended up not getting there until 2 pm (which I despised-we had missed 4 whole hours). When we got there everything was so overwhelming. I was wondering how we were going to fit so much fun into 8 hours. My daughter (5 years old) was with me and my boyfriend. Also my brother, his 2 children (1 and 3) and his wife and brother in law. The first thing we did was stood in line for the Scooby Castle. We were tricked because there was a short line outside, we were in that line for like 5 minutes but when we got inside there was a LOOONG line. My daughter ended up wimping out so we never rode that ride. We then rode the Fairly Odd Coaster (able to walk right on it), The Wild Thornberry Adventure (after about an hour wait-but it was a nice ride), Timmy's Airtours, and she rode Blue's Skidoo. We wanted her to ride everything but we also wanted to go to the waterpark, so we left. We waited for about 30 minutes and took the train to the waterpark. The waterpark was really nice. I rode Snowy River (or something like that), Bonzai Pipeline, Aussie Twister and spent the rest of the time in the wave pool thing (which was great on that hot day).I wanted to do the big blue and yellow thing but the line never went down. We stayed in the waterpark until we heard that there was only 5 minutes to closing and we wanted to beat the rush out. My only complaint about this area was in the dressing room someone had changed their sanitary napkin and left the old one on a bench which grossed me out. After going back into the regular part, we went to LaRosa's for pizza (good pizza) and I had a slush from Hollywood's Donuts which was REALLY good and bought my daugther a bag of donuts which I ended up eating half of. Then I went and watched my boyfriend ride Delirium, Drop Zone, and Racer (I am a chicken-sorry). It was then about 9 and we were upset because we hadn't really done anything. We rode Congo Falls because there was not line at all (surprising as hot as it was) and then went to ride Adventure Express because we were able to walk right on it as well. Adventure Express was neat at night but the ride was kind of rough to me. He then rode Vortex and Faceoff because the lines were so short and we tried for the Italian Job but the line was still long and we did not want to spend our last 30 minutes in a line. I did not get a chance to ride Tomb Raider, White Water Canyon, Monster, and a few other things that I wanted to do. Next time we will try not to mix a kid trip with an adult trip because Nick Universe can keep a kid occupied all day and they don't want to leave. My boyfriend and I plan to go back either in September or October when school starts, hoping that it won't be as busy. All in all it was a nice trip!!!! One complaint though, my nephew had rode the Fairlyodd Coaster 3 times and when he tried to ride the 4th time someone new had taken over and told him that he was too short. We asked the girl to measure him with the stick (which they had all 3 times before) and she refused saying that he was too short. The other girl that was standing there just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry.
