Aquarium lands world-renowned Hollywood make-up artist to kick off its annual Halloween promotion The fourth annual Ghosts of Pirate Cove will take place at the Aquarium from Oct. 21 -31. Guests can experience a sunken ship in the shark tank, pirates, storytelling, activities, decorations and treasure, and a great offer: Up to four kids (12 and under) in costume get in for $5 with each adult paying full price from Oct. 21 – 31, 2006, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. World-renowned Hollywood make-up and special effects artist Ken Niederbaumer is flying in from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean III, just to be part of the Newport Aquarium’s family-friendly Halloween event. Niederbaumer will provide make-up demonstrations, free with Aquarium admission, throughout each day on Oct. 21 and 22, in the Aquarium’s Duke Theater. A few lucky tri-state kids will be randomly selected to receive a "personal pirate makeover" and Aquarium visitors can watch the transformations unfold. On Oct. 28 and 29, the Newport Aquarium will host Costume Contests for kids in Duke Energy Theater at 3 p.m. With help from sponsors MIX 94.1 and FOX 19 and great prizes, this promises to be another fun weekend at the Aquarium. Shark Central This summer, the Newport Aquarium’s new permanent exhibit will help dispel shark myths and give kids a fun way to learn about these unique animals. Fourth Annual Santa’s Water Wonderland 11/24/06 – 12/31/06 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.* Scuba Santa dives daily. Sounds like fun and I think it will give us a reason to stay overnight .
